yes the fan still runs, I had tried a front panel reset and even left it unplugged overnight. I get nothing on the tv screen. When I switch to the 301 I get all the normal stuff on the tv screen you would get with a receiver not activated

I have a 501 that started getting a very weak signel and would lose the picture for the last 2 days, had a dish tec coming out (which they missed the appt) so I had moved it to the garage where I hook it up to watch the race and clean the garage and now my wife moved it to get into the freezer...

OK I used a different cable coming in off the dish and still have the same problem. So one thing I could do is set up the old dish 300 in the yard and check the receiver with that. Should tell me if the problem is the receiver or out at the dish 500? Any other suggestions? Rand

Thanks Stargazer, I have the 500 twin. I am guessing the lnbf is the part on the arm extending out from the dish. I got the 522 working in the bedroom so thats telling me it is not the cable itself. I am now going to hook up the 501 in the other room where the 522 slave was. Thanks for the help...
