    The YouTube TV Thread

I think I started Sony Vue at $39.99 until they went belly up. Then switched to YTTV at $49 and in 2 short years they could be a high as $85....no savings anymore, will be time to shop again.

HBO Max launches on Roku 12/17/2020

Totally agree, watched it last night with my daughter and while we both liked WW, this was a big disappointment along with the rest of the DC movies.

HBO Max - WarnerMedia Announces Upcoming Streaming Service

I wan Sam's yesterday and always browse the gift cards since you can get a slight discount on buying them there. I did think about all of the Regal and AMC gift cards and wondered if they would be worthless by the time the pandemic restrictions were lifted.

HBO Max - WarnerMedia Announces Upcoming Streaming Service

Seems Roku won the battle by allowing HBO Max subscribers sign up through Roku cutting them in on the revenue stream......which was the heart of the dispute. As noted, Roku had the upper hand all along on this one.

Successful Launch and deployment of SXM-7

Will this more powerful and new satellite improve the bit rate and sound quality of the music channels?

HBO Max - WarnerMedia Announces Upcoming Streaming Service

Because it cost Roku nothing to do it and they gave nothing to HBOMax in terms of additional subscribers. If you want to believe HBOMax is in a position of power so be it but actual financial analysts agree this is a sign of HBOMax's weak position in this standoff.

HBO Max - WarnerMedia Announces Upcoming Streaming Service

No, they are clearly not enough based on their subscriber numbers and the actions they are having to take to survive. They need Roku more than Roku needs them at this point. I do believe this is a prelude to a deal coming soon but much friendlier and closer to the terms Roku wanted pre-launch.

HBO Max - WarnerMedia Announces Upcoming Streaming Service

I think they want Roku to strike a deal but this is like blood in the water to Roku, this is a survival move for MGM and HBOMax and no reason for Roku to cave in at this point. They have about 43M viewers that HBOMax needs.

    The YouTube TV Thread

YTTV just hiked their price by $15 in the last few months. I have to believe this was factored into that price hike since these negotiations take some time to conclude.

    The YouTube TV Thread

This is the problem I see, I had DIsh for 14 years, did not need to subscribe to any other service but the price was too high. Switched to YTTV, added some other services to fill in the gaps and was still paying less than Dish. 3 short years later YTTV has gone from $35 to $65, Netflix has gone...

Yes got it and they are the last few channels in my live guide.

    Disney Plus +

It sounds like a deal. If the launch is 11/12 and you can watch it on smart TVs and streaming devices will the apps be released on 11/12 as well?

YouTube is already back and officially supported on Fire TV. Waiting on YTTV official app and am currently getting by with the sideloaded version.

    Celebrating 15 Years!

Thank you and ditto to all of the prior comments. This site certainly has helped me save a lot of money over the years. The technical knowledge I have gained has also been a great benefit.

Thinking it is time to leave Dish

Pulled the trigger this weekend and went with PS Vue. YTTV is not an option in my area yet. So far I like it, going to take some getting used to after being with DISH for 12 years.
