    FIRST LOOK: 622 Review!

Good review Scott and lots of good info on the 622 from the rest of the posters. Thanks for all of the info. I'm now sold on getting one.

    R15 units rolling out now

I agree with Hogarth. As much as I'd love to have one of these I think I'll wait a while to let others get the bugs worked out and D*TV to add some more features. For me no MRV is a show stopper anyway. I love my Tivo and E* 522 for this feature so not having it on a pair of R15s would be a pain...

    R15 units rolling out now

The R15 is not an HD-DVR receiver. It is DirecTV's first replacement unit for the DirecTivo. It has a lot of similarities to a Tivo unit but it runs a linux based DirecTV OS. The two biggest differences, and one of them is not present as yet, is the R15 has a 160GB HD with a 100 hour recording...

    R15 units rolling out now

The long awaited R15 units, the first Non-Tivo unit from D*TV, are being delivered now. Earl over on the Tivo Community board has a general review posted. Maybe Scott or some other SatGuys staffer can get a hold of one and do review here as well. For now here is a link to Earl's review of...

Acutrak 22 Pro and 72.5 satellite

Sorry to revive a seni-old thread but just wanted to thank the responders. I am able to peak the 72.5 satellite with the AccuTrak Pro. It just takes a while to get it with this meter. There are 3 different satellites you can hit while trying to lock on to the 72.5 so it may take a couple of...

    Stud finder for shingles

Its best to avoid mounting of any roof. If you have to the way Plywodstatebum is the best way to do it. Even doing that eventually they will start to leak over time.

Acutrak 22 Pro and 72.5 satellite

I just got an Acutrak 22 Pro. Can it be used to peak a 72.5 signal? The manual just talks about 101, 110, and 119 birds.

    522 audio/video sync, pops, etc

Hands down the Dish 522 beats any cable DVR I've seen. I live in Charter cable area but work for Comcast as a sub-contractor and neither Charter or Comcast has a decent DVR solution compared to Dish. And now with NBR the 522 is really quite comparable to a Tivo. Still not as good or reliable but...

    Back Online again!

Ok may have been my mistake. There is no 522 forum now. There is a generic Dish DVR/PVR section now. So thats why my bookmark failed.

    Back Online again!

As far as speed goes I can't tell any difference. But then again I am on a wide open DSL account so you'd have to be blazingly faster than before for me to notice any speed increase. But just as Indy posted I had a bookmark directly to the Dish 522 section and it doesn't work now it goes to...

    522 activation dn says no

Actually I don't get this either. DN knows via the units serial number whether it is paid for or not. If it is a legit unit I don't understand why they wouldn't activate them. They could still charge their $5/month VOD fee as they do on the lease units.

    software update question?

Thats exactly what I do too and I get the updates as well. I have the automatic updates set for 5am and when I wake in the morning the logo is bouncing around. I just hit select and go on about about ALL DAY viewing on both tuners. I never physically turn my receiver off. And maybe its just...

Sirius gets (much needed) serious $$$$

I think you hit the nail on the head here. People tune in to these shock jocks just to see how they will push the envelope on restricted air waves. Once this restriction is lifted I think they lose appeal quickly. I hope it all works out for Sirius. Its a lot of money they are gambling on...

    Sirius Promo code available?

If you're thinking about getting one of the Audiovox PnP tuners you might want to check into this: JENSEN SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO BOOMBOX JBX100SR Supposedly its the same boombox with a different name brand on it.
