Hopper 3 Audio dropouts over HDMI

In my case on a HWS it is not the HDMI cable. I get the same dropout and/or pixelization of the same recording on the Joey.

Netflix on H3 looks so much better...

Dish HD is mini HD and is 1080x1440 while I believe netflix is a full 1080x1920 resolution? Not compresses as much since netflix is via internet, dish is via satellite? I cannot speak for the H3, but I stopped watching netflix on the HWS due to it does not pass through 5.1 and the picture was a...

Hopper 3 Audio dropouts over HDMI

I get sound dropouts on my HWS the past month. Seems to be recorded only and only with the prime time recordings only. In my case, I have been thinking a failed HD since I also get a lot of pixelization on many recordings.

    DISH Started Charging State Tax

Lived in Moab and they charged me state and local taxes ($2.20). moved to Idaho and only charge me the state tax ($1.68). I guess Moab or Grand County UT had a satellite tax on top of the state tax. One of the reasons I moved out of UT.

    Hr54 4K

I guess I'm going back over to Dish and view the Hopper 3. I'm really not that much enthralled with 4K at this time. I do believe my Sony 4K has a lot better picture (resolution, color, contrast) when compared to my older non-4K Sony. Some of that might be due to the higher resolution and the...

    Hr54 4K

Then this statement by Direct is incorrect What do I need to enjoy DIRECTV 4K Ultra HD, including 4K channels 104, 105, and 106? Print Email To enjoy DIRECTV 4K Ultra HD, you need the following: A Genie HD DVR (Model HR54 or later). A manufacturer-certified DIRECTV 4K Ready TV. If your 4K...

    Does Dish Hopper 3 Supports HDR10 ?

HDR requires 10-bit color depth and HDMI 2.0a ports. (HDMI 1.4 has the bandwidth for only 8-bit color depth.) http://en.tab-tv.com/?p=13477

    Hr54 4K

Am I understanding this correctly, since the 54 only has 1.4 HDMI ports and if connected to a 4K direct certified TV it will be a limited 4K. Limited in that it can only sendt/receive 24 fps and 8-bit color while a system with HDMIa 2.0 can send/receive 30 (and I believe up to 60) fps and 10-12...

    DVR Recordings Out Of Order

I have mine sorted by episode number, lowest to highest; HWS. And no problem. But that if I remember correctly, if I download On Demand it sorts by the first recorded to the last recorded, not by episode number. It did that for Game of Thrones. One of two did not download when first programmed.

    Hr54 4K

And if I am reading the information correctly, the 54 only has 1.4a HDMI ports. If this is true, it will never pass through a 4K signal and will never be able to use HDCP 2.2. From my understanding, and it may be incorrect, 1.4 cannot be updated to 2.0 except via a hardware change, whereas HDMI...

DISH’s Hopper 3 DVR Now Supports Netflix in Ultra HD 4K

I get 4K with Netflix on my 2015 Sony Bravia TV with the Netflix app. One way to find out if the TV is receiving 4K is to press the 'Display' button on the Sony remote. The top left corner will display the input to the TV; IT DOES NOT display the screen resolution, the screen resolution is...

DISH’s Hopper 3 DVR Now Supports Netflix in Ultra HD 4K

What about HDR? But the thought of adding another cable to the TV and then crawling on my hands and knees to attach it to the back of the receiver is not inviting to this guy. Guess I'll just continue to use the Sony Netflix button.

DISH’s Hopper 3 DVR Now Supports Netflix in Ultra HD 4K

Does the Hopper 3 pass through 5.1 from Netlfix? And will it pass through HDR content from Netflix? I'm looking at updating to the Hopper 3 from a HWS, and not a big item since it is just as easy to pick up the Sony remote and hit the convenient Netflix button. But I am curious. Thanks,

Joey 4K not compatible with 4KTV

I'm not sure about a software update for HDMI 1.4 to 2.0. I thought it was hardware related, but I'm no expert. But I do know if you do not have HDMI 2.0 you cannot have HDCP 2.2. I know on the 4K Sony I purchased in Dec, it came with four HDMI 2.0 HDMI ports that were also HDCP 2.2 compliant...
