Audio and Video Intermittently Out of Sync

I find it easier to just find another show to watch if the lip sync is bad enough to bother me. Even if I had presets, "Oh, I'm watch channel 227, I need preset 1." I watch my show, turn everything off, then go to bed. The next day, the better half gets up, turns on the TV and goes to channel...

Audio and Video Intermittently Out of Sync

I hope they found SOME solution in the last 20 years. ETA: Even if this was a current a problem, adding a dedicated audio delay isn't going to work for an intermittent problem. Unless the user has some way to turn it on/off. Then you'd have to remember to turn it on/off when you go away from...

    OTA crazy

Did you reboot the receiver? I would think it's either the receiver or the tuner. Rebooting the receiver should restart both of them. You could reseat the tuner and leave the receiver on. I'm guessing it's not a cable issue. That would explain channel pixelization and drop out, not changing...

OTA channels are constantly searching for signal

Did you ever try hooking up the antenna feed to the TV and having it scanning for channels?

    Who doesn't have locals?

18 years and I may cut the cord!

1080 vs 720 doesn't really matter on compression. You can take a 1080 signal, only dedicate 1Mb to it, and it will look like crap. Same with 720.

OTA channels are constantly searching for signal

Can you connect a splitter and also feed the antenna to the TV as well as Dish? This is more for troubleshooting. Then, when you have the loss of signal message, switch over to the TV and see if it's having problems. I'm guessing, based on the "multiple channels" issue, it's probably cabling...

*I* understand that. Just saying it might be worth it to temper OP's expectations.

    Local channel help

I'm not sure how to suggest this, but if he's picking up the signals relatively well with a cheapy indoor, I would think you don't want too strong of an outdoor antenna. I agree a better antenna would be needed (ideally the local stations never break up), but getting TOO much signal to the TV...

    Local channel help

Just to be clear, this is what the connection from the OTA antenna should look like: Assuming it's connected to the Dish receiver, you unscrew it from there (don't get confused with the line coming from the satellite dish) and connect it to the TV (there should only be one spot to connect it on...

18 years and I may cut the cord!

Speaking as someone who cut the cord a year ago (after 20+ years with Dish), while you don't have rain fade to deal with, if your internet goes out, you might have to jump through some hoops to watch TV (at least on large screens). Anything cellular connected should still be good.

Recent quality problems with local Twin Cities PBS tpt channel 2

Thank you. Principle is still the same. I'm fairly confident Dish is brining in the 1.0 signals, no real reason to get the 3.0, much less send on to customers.

Recent quality problems with local Twin Cities PBS tpt channel 2

What is 'tpt"? Are they the owners? Second, the way the conversion to ATSC 3.0 generally works is one station in the market will become the "light house". They shutoff their ATSC 1.0 transmitter. They ship (probably via fiber, possibly microwave) some of their signals to other stations...

    Fox Business issues?

Other channels (locals & Nick) had no issues.
