My H3 stopped recognizing my Toshiba 3GB drive a few months ago, recognized it for a few days this week, but is back to not recognizing it. So frustrating.

Sorry to bump this old thread, but I was wondering if Dish has added the ability to transfer recordings using the old UI. I have an original Hopper (S614), so I can't upgrade to the Carbon UI. I'm wanting to upgrade to a H3, but I hate having to buy an EHD just to transfer a few recordings.

I am interested in upgrading to the Hopper 3.

I currently have my 722k connected to a small kitchen TV via coax that displays the same picture as my family room TV connected via HDMI. Using a Hopper, can I continue to connect to the small TV via coax or will that TV require a Joey?

Where can I get details about this promotion? Can one of the DIRT members authorize this?

I'm facing this same decision. I would just send it back for $10, but I suppose I could use the hard drive for something. Does anyone know how big the hard drive is in a 721?

Isn't this an either/or situation? If you lease, you pay the lease fee but don't pay the extra recvr fee. If you own, you pay the extra recvr fee but obviously don't pay the lease fee.

Ok, so if I subscribe to a metal HD package, is there any additonal charge for recording OTA HD? Does the $6/month fee only apply when not subscribing to a metal package?

Can I use Dish'n It Up to lease a 622 without commitment to a metal HD package? I would like to use the 622 to record SD and OTA HD for now. Would they just charge me the additional $6/month fee, or is a metal HD package a requirement?
