    I have a 720P HDTV so I have my receiver set to output at 720P. My question is if I'm recording from a channel with a 1080i source (NBC, HDnet, etc) Will my receiver be recording at that 1080i source or will it be recording it at 720P since that's what I have my receiver outputting?     Exactly, this concerns me too. I don't want to have to buy a new EHD every couple of months because these things are constantly on and eventually die. I'm considering unplugging the EHD everynight.

    I know this may be a N00B question but I have the VIP211 added a 750GB EHD everythings working great but is it possible to hook up the EHD to my PC and transfer the shows I recorded onto the PC so I can edit them or burn them to a DVD or AVCHD disc?
