Why not take a look at the openbox x3 or a skybox f3? They are both decent boxes, much better than the S10 and in your price range. Do a search here and you will find some info. on them.

Yojiatech chinese site has all the software you will ever need for the X3. They have a channel editor, lan tool, and manual for it. There is fw with an American TP list included. I have the skybox F3, which is the same internally as the X3. Haven't had any problems at all with the F3.

I can get NBC, ABC, LWN, CW and sometimes RTV OTA. That is it. I wouldn't give a flip for any of them except for RTV. RTV comes and goes, depending on the weather.

Sounds like you are already in the upgrade menu. Push exit and right arrow to system menu, hit ok button and down arrow to tv system. Push ok button and see video resolution. Right or left arrow to 480i, 480p or native tv. The x3 should work just like the f3 and they do work with 60hz tv's...

Try using the upgrade tool with a null modem cable and upgrade to the latest fw. I think yojiatech has both. You won't need a tv for that. If that don't work you may have a hardware problem.

The x3,q3,f3 and m3 all use the same lan manager program. You can get it from yojiatech.:)

Well, I finally solved the ethernet problem. It was my cable modem, not the STB. I asked the cable company to change my modem and they did today. Took care of it and I now get the weather just fine on the F3. Thanks for all the replies and help from you guys.
