    It's been fun...

After 22 years and 7 months almost to the day, I have severed my relationship with Dish today. I know the typical response by most readers of this type of announcement, especially from someone who has been dormant on this board for several years, is an angry "Don't let the door hit you on your...

Frustrated by numerous program guide issues

As Rhett Butler so eloquently stated: "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn." Where the problem originates is not my concern. There is a problem that has been reported to the provider. The provider is the one to figure out where the issue originates and should rectify it quickly!

    Star Trek Discovery

Discovery is a fine sci-fi show. It's just not Star Trek (and neither is the Abrams universe). Call it something else. Seth McFarlain was able to do that. Why not these guys.

Frustrated by numerous program guide issues

Because of the FCC OTA repack, two Dayton channels (26 and 43) went off the air. Virtual channels 26 (CW) and 43 (ION) are now sub-channels of RF channel 50 along with virtual channel 2 (NBC). All three channels show the NBC program listings on Dish's guide info.

I was wondering why LateNite wasn't recording this week. The guide was goofy.

    Is rain fade getting worse

*Sigh* Raining or not raining where you are doesn't make a difference. It's the amount of moisture between you and the satellite. You just explained WHY it's cloud fade. LOL. You're arguing semantics. The water in the 5 mile thick cloud is what is blocking your signal, not the rain from a...

    Telemundo and other Spanish Networks

The good thing about this is I finally got to see WAPA America and realized how little I was missing. ...Other than local news.

    Is rain fade getting worse

Fog goes up maybe a few hundred feet at most, so no. You will not see any issues. However a 5 mile thick cloud WILL have an effect on your signal. I know. I've seen it with my own eyes. Rain, coming from a thin layer of clouds has virtually NO effect on signal. A thick thunderhead that...

    Is rain fade getting worse

Hmmm.... what are thunderheads made out of? I have 21 years experience with DBS satellites and signal loss issues. LOL. The thickness of the clouds (amount of water between you and the satellite), not the rain itself that kills the signal.

    Is rain fade getting worse

A reminder that rain fade is a misnomer. It's really CLOUD fade. This is the time of year when we get big thunderheads and isolated storms. This is the time of year the sun could be shining on your house, but a giant thunderhead is between you and the satellite. If that happens you could...
