I wasn't there of course, so I am only going off what she remembered. Mostly "upgrade and $200" But the fact she said she lost her signal still tells me it was from Dish themselves.

This does sound a lot like what she described, only issue being that they actually turned off her service? Any way that could happen if it wasn't a legit Dish employee? Like do 3rd party retailers of Dish have this power? Dish network scam calls

Thanks, When my mom called me, she said she was scammed, or hacked, or something like that. When I walked her through the whole thing, I took bits and pieces to form what I think happened. The weird part was that she said the call came in and the caller ID was listed as "Federated Insurance"...

good point, maybe some skids welded to the end of the threaded rod might be the way to go. Brew

For the skid mount, I was thinking about drilling a hole in the corners, welding a nut on the frame, then using long bolts, or just threaded rod, threaded through the nuts to level it. Sound ok? Part of the reason I want to go this route is I already have the frame part built. I built it...

Is the tripod the way to go? I was thinking more along the lines of something like this since I could make one pretty quick at home. It does tend to get quite windy around here since it is so flat, thought one of these might be more stable, especially if we threw a sandbag or something on it...
