Android app keeps passing unwanted notifications

It did it again tonight. I'm just going to get rid of the app altogether. Sent from my LG-H811 using the SatelliteGuys app!

Android app keeps passing unwanted notifications

I have the Android app and every other day or so, I get notifications about random posts that I have not commented on, read, or interacted with in any way. I've turned off all notifications, unsubscribed all feeds, etc. Still it pushes notifications to me. At this point, the only solution I can...

    Shaw footprint for AZ

Does Shaw's satellites still hit in Arizona, specifically around Phoenix? I haven't put one of these systems in for a good while and am wondering if there is still coverage here.

    SatelliteGuys Changes for May

I have a suggestion. Take it for what it's worth. Ever since I've discovered Groupon, I've bought a lot of stuff there. The deals are very good. If you become an affiliate, you can earn 10% on sales. Now, I don't suggest just running it completely hands off but if there is a way to post up ads...

I'm Mad & Disappointed With Dish

When things go wrong, I sometimes go pick a fight with a fish. Most of the time, though, the line just ends up bobbing in the water.

Does dish have to be grounded?

Another by the book idiot who doesn't even understand what the book is about. NFPA is concerned about protecting life and property. With the coax grounded, neither is in danger.

Does dish have to be grounded?

Ever stop to think that he didn't have a choice in the matter of his employment. The housing bubble burst six years ago, taking many tradesmen out with it.

Does dish have to be grounded?

Re-read my post and decide for yourself if the dish needs to be grounded or not. According to NEC code, yes. However, the NEC code doesn't make exceptions for individual circumstances where an antenna system doesn't need grounding, such as when the cabling portion of it is grounded. NEC codes...

Does dish have to be grounded?

OK, there are two separate NEC codes at work here. Both came about under separate circumstances. One code was written to govern the grounding of antenna systems. If you remember, off-air antennas were first installed with 300-ohm flat wire. There was no way to ground that flat wire. In the event...

    DIRECTV Grants Endless Wishes

*Limit three remote viewings per Genie HD DVR (model HR34 Advanced Whole-Home DVR) at a time. Remote viewing requires a model C31Client, H25 HD Receiver(s) or RVU-enabled TV/device in each additional room, a SWiM network and Advanced Receiver Service ($20/mo.) To access HD programming, HD...

Dish to DIRECTV but small view of the sky

That's debatable. I've gotten different results from my Dishpointer app than from my Suunto inclinometer. FYI, the Suunto was right. When I did installs (only quit recently to be a real estate agent), I used the DP app to show customers the LOS but used my Suunto to be absolutely sure.

    HR23 to Slimline 3 SWM

I think I've run into this once when I was doing a mover and their last setup was not SWM and the new system was. The HR23 wouldn't work, just a few random TPs with low signals but mostly 0s. Since I was putting in a SWM8, I unhooked the coax from a D11 and extended it to the HR23. I let it do...

    Help more than 6 tvs

Cheapest way I can think of. RCA output of one of the receivers going into a VCR. Turn on VCR and put it on L1 or L2 or whatever the RCA input on your VCR is called. Take note of the output channel of the VCR. Connect the coax output of the VCR to the coax feeding these other rooms. Note, the...

Dish to DIRECTV but small view of the sky

EJ, I think I can be of some help. As a former installer, I helped several people get that line of sight that was unobtainable for many technicians when I lived in NW Georgia. In fact, one customer I installed, we did three separate dishes to get him working. He only had an opening large enough...

    What's the actual azimuth of satellite's ?

The elevation given is the actual elevation angle to the satellite from your geographical location. The offset of the LNB doesn't really matter. We use offset dishes now because some genius got it in his head that it would be wise to move the feedhorn away from the sweet spot of the incoming...
