I used a good quality AB switch in my mobile home to do the very thing you are wanting to do. I did this with a VIP722K and it worked fine. I don't see why it wouldn't work with a Wally.

Friday the contract for the sister CBS station (KOAM) expires and it looks like will be off Dish.

I believe the 211 has two OTA tuners so that provides some additional options if you can receive OTA stations.

Keep in mind the VIP 211K only has one tuner. So when it is recording a program you can watch what is being recorded or a pre-recorded program. You can't watch a live program while recording a different live program.

Thanks for the response. I am eventually going to an H3 system and was planning on a couple of 211s for backup to the H3 and for use in our camper. Got to thinking about the Wallys and thought that might be better than the 211s.

I saw the attachment, that is what generated the question. I guess I'm basically asking will the solo hub pass through the power if the inserter is installed on the Hopper side.
