That's pretty nice, I've been a Slingbox user for so long, I never bothered with Dish Remote Access. So, it looks like you have view all your timers in a menu, but I guess to capture them you'd just have to do a screen shot or something? Don't see a "save" or some method to download them?

That's a great idea! Also wish there was a way to dump the timer list to the external drive, and then just reload it.

This is one of the reasons inverter generators are so expensive..ie..providing clean power. But you can also just add a basic automatic voltage regulator, like a Line-R from APC. They only cost about $50 or less, and plug all your electronics (sat receivers, computers, etc..) into that, and...

Success ! SUCCESS !! Back up again. The Seagate Pipeline HD ST3500312CS 500 GB drive from Buy.com came in today, plugged it in, and right away got the "drive needs to be cleaned" message and it configured the drive. 15 minutes later I was back live and recording and playing back...

Yeah, but only once so far (re: the "we can sell you new one at list"). but as is usually the case with Dish, subsequent calls can generate different results (depending on the CSR or how high you escalate it). I'm holding that option in reserve, but mostly I just need to find some spare...

As noted above, the issue comes in when you reach Dish's max receiver count limits within one account (6) which is what I have. 4 leased units, and the 2 I own outright. rgds, WT

Yep ! That is GOOD advice. I almost made that mistake on an previous unit that I was upgrading the drive on. That was a rude awakening. But thankfully I still had the old drive, so I plugged it back in and captured the timers. Thanks for reminding me !
