    Switching to Fios?

I switched over a few years ago and have not regretted moving over to FIOS. I'm not a big Ranger or Knick fan, so losing MSG was not a big deal to me. While the HD quality is very comparable between the two, FIOS's SD channels are a far cut better than Cablevision (there are still a couple of SD...

    Fios in my condo complex!

I can't compare with Dish but, I switched from cable where the SD quality was very poor. Most SD channels had a lot pixelation on my 720p TV. FIOS SD signal is far superior and I can't imagine you being disappointed with it.

    Slow Internet

As an ex-Cablevision customer who switched to FIOS, I do not ever regret making the switch. When I was with Cablevision, I was lucky to get download speeds of 6-8 Mbs, so that's literally half of their advertised speed (I was on the 15/2 plan). With FIOS it is rare when I don't get the full 20...

Will Cablevision Up the Upload to match Verizon 20/20 ?

Yes I did have a router setup to it but it was the OOL service. First thing I always had my wife do was check the cable modem router. Sure enough, the lights were blinking on it, so it was a problem on their end.

Will Cablevision Up the Upload to match Verizon 20/20 ?

You must have been in a better area than me. My wife works from home and uses the internet throughout the day, she complains to me about all their outages.

Will Cablevision Up the Upload to match Verizon 20/20 ?

I've got to laugh at this being an ex CV customer. Jump on the FIOS bandwagon like I did. Not only are their internet speeds faster; more importantly, FIOS' reliability is a whole lot better than CV. In the year that I have had FIOS, I have had ZERO internet outages. I was lucky to go a month or...

    Fios VS Comcast

It really doesn't take that long to do a side by side, took me maybe a half hour. Just remember to compare the channels from the same packages you are interested. For me, the channel lineups were very similar between CV and FIOS. It was the PQ, the stupid channel lag on CV, and the better HD...

    Fios VS Comcast

You will have to compare them yourself. I did this when comparing Cablevision to Verizon's channel lineup. Print out copies of both channel lineups and do it the old school method. Use a highlighter to cross off channels that both providers carry. Then at the end, whichever channels are not...

You can try putting in an amplifier before the coax splits off into your house.

    DVR Recordings-% of Space Used

Yes, it's about 5% of space for a 1 hour HD show.

    Cv Vs Fios

I didn't get any hassles at all when canceling. I just walked into the store with my setops and said buh-bye.

    Cv Vs Fios

I switched from CV about 8 months ago and have no complaints with the FIOS service. The internet speeds are a lot faster. When Verizon says you get 20 Mb, you get the full 20. Unlike Cablevision, where their speeds were a purported 15 Mb, in reality you got 6-8 Mb at best. The HD quality of the...

    FiOS VOD

Verizon offers a lot of VOD movies. The more movie packages you sign up for, the more VOD choices you have. While the choices are many, I have to say the selection is mediocre. I don't remember seeing any HD VOD content. Most of the VOD movies are free, there are a few of the newer releases...

Do I need a Box for All Channels w/ Fios??

Verizon's 10/2 is faster than Cablevision's 15/2. Even though on paper it's faster, I never got more than 8 or 9 Mbs from Optonline. When Verizon says 10, you get 10. Zerkon, in case you didn't know, the multi-room DVR cannot transmit HD recorded quality shows to other setup boxes. If watching...
