I've heard some good things about RG11 coax over long runs. Is this compatible with Directv?

Thought about using this with my over the air antenna and possible with my sat.

yep, should work fine, it is 75 ohm like either rg6 or 59. If you have a cheap source I would use it. Not sure how much help it would be on the satellite lines, Would probably help more for weak OTA reception. How long of a run are we talking?

The center conductor is larger, so there will be less voltage drop in addition to lower loss using RG11. Both the cable and suitable connectors (compression, of course) are more difficult to find and a different compression tool is required.

RG-11 is what I use for the main trunk line in all the Wal-Mart stores for the hanging tv's and the main line for the wall of eyes in electronics. Anything longer than a hundred feet or so, that's the way to go. Wouldn't think you'd need it for anything less.
