Hi all!
I think I can really get some help from you guys on this issue. To many of Yankee Fans disappointment, DISH does not carry YES. I have created a petition, which I hope of getting 1,000 signatures with, that shows that many of us would like YES on DISH. Here is the URL: http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/YES4DISH

Thanks for signing.

You need to petition the Yankees...not Dish. They only reason they aren't on Dish, according to many posts, is that the Yankees demand being included in one of the primary packages, (like the AT200), and will not settle for only being in the sports package or a-la-carte like all the other RSNs. They are trying to force ALL subscribers to have to pay for their channel, instead of just the Yanks fans.

While I sympathize with the Yanks fans wanting the channel, as a Mets fan (or any other team) I wouldn't want to be forced to pay for the channel in my regular package!

If you're interested, do a search...there are dozens of posts about this channel floating around.

But all of the FSN channels are included in the Top 200 and I don't give a sh*t about them! I have to pay for those, along with NESN, and I hate the Red Sox! I read somewhere (don't remember where) that DISH Network wanted a different price or something to carry YES, and if YES did what DISH wanted, it would void its contracts with other companies, like DirecTV, Comcast, AT&T, etc.

YEs DiSh wanted different terms from those offered to other providers.

It also appears that YES wanted their payment based on total subs not just those able to receive YES. Local RSNs are generally included with the AT 200 BTW. I assume this guy lives in the NY area and wants the Yankees. I personally can't s
atand them but I understand his position and sympathize with him----but not the yankees.

As for who to petition why not petition them both?

Actually I'm in southern CT. A friend of mine has a small office building and would have saved about $50 per month if he switched to DISH but couldn't because the tenants needed YES Network. I was going to try to get all of the other sports networks and watch the other team's broadcast but it turns out the games are blocked out.

Wrong

Do your homework.

I hate to argue with you, but yes, most, if not all of the FSN networks are included in the Top 200 according to their channel lineup.

EDIT: My bad, I'm wrong. Sorry Nebugeater.

No, you only get your HOME regional sports network. The only way to get all of the FSN's is to pay the extra $5.99 a month for the muti-sports pack..

Correct, but you only get your OWN RSN as part of AT200. You dont get everyone else's RSN.

At this point I think everyone isa bit confused and I count myself in that.

I was responding to the comment on post 2 that indicated that RSNS are avaialble only in the sports pack or ala cartye. Taht they are NOT included in AT 200. I said that the RSNs are available with At 200 but I certainly did not think that the OP thought he could get every game this way.

By the way when you say"Southern Connecticut" what do you mean. Fairfield County? that is YES territory but as far as I know tha tis the only part of CT that gets YES and Yankee games.

So we are all either outright incorrect or a bit misleading.

This is what I get for trying to help a Yanke fan.

Wow, I really have my facts wrong. Sorry guys, I apologize. Looking at the channel lineup, I thought I got them all. Yes, I am wrong. Sorry Geronimo and Nebugeater. Anyway, @Geronimo, I'm in New Haven County, and am able to get YES on Comcast and would be available for free with DirecTV too.

Dish feels they get more customers by having AT100 without RSNs to keep the price low than it would be to carry YES and be forced to carry it in AT100. If they were to put YES in AT100 the other RSNs would probably have to be put in AT100 also since most probably have a most favored nations clause to keep them in equal packages with all the other RSNs.

YES just needs to agree to be carried in the same packages as all the other RSNs and it would magically appear on Dish.

I apologize. i did not think it was available in New Haven but i take your word for it.

Why does YES have to be carried in all of the channel lineups in DISH Network? I may be wrong again, but don't you have to pay extra for YES on DirecTV or Comcast unless you are close enough to New York where you get it for free, like me?

I didn't state the point in my post very well. What I meant was, like others have said, that YES was supposedly demanding to be paid for all Dish subscribers to the basic package that it would have been included in, rather than just the subs in their viewing area (or that had the sports package) like the other RSN's. I mentioned a-la-carte, because I thought I read at one point that Dish offered to carry it that way, and YES refused that as well.

Dish doesn't carry YES. They probably won't in the forseeable future. If you want YES, your best strategy is to get Direct.

Businesses don't really respond to petitions all that well. Most are more interested in the bottom line and return to stockholders, and I'll bet that it will take more than a thousand Yankee fans to make a dent in that for either Dish or Steinbrenner.

Go Red Sox!
NESNHD 24/7 Please!

This issue is the Yankees own doing because they are greedy bastards!

If they would just be on Fox sports like every other major league baseball team there would not be an issue. But because they want to own their own sports network and demand more money they are not on DISH Network

E* could cut a deal with SNY without an issue, so I'm assuming that Steingrabber is just being too greedy with their demands....

This Mets fan is happy that I don't pay a dime to support the Yankees, so it's a benefit to me, but I feel your pain. If you are a diehard Yankee fan it is Cable, Fios, or D*....
