I decided to cancel my Dish network service a week ago and Dish sent me "prepaid" boxes(you have to pay $15 return fee per shipping label charged to you Dish account!) and also sent equipment return instructions. They wanted back the receivers, LNBF, remotes, and a switch. What confuses me is on the instructions it says the switch would be on the outside of my house and my system may or may not have included a switch or the switch may differ. The switch in the instructions is a VideoPath Multi-Dish Switch model DP34. I followed all the wires around my house and did not find one like that but I did find these little plugs(they look like cable line splitters). The plugs are called Holland DPD2 and DP Plus Separator. I found two of each and one of DPD2 is on the outside of my house. Are these the switches that they want, if not should I send them back anyway to keep from having to pay equipment costs? Thanks for your help :)

No those are diplexors and separators. The DP34 is likely near the sat antenna. That is an older switch so if you had a newer D500 or D1000.2 or D1000.4 antenna installed/upgraded, the installer likely took that switch when he/she left after the upgrade as it probably would not be needed. If the LNB is in an inaccessable location to you, you are not expected to risk life and limb to return it either. Just tell them it's where you cannot retrieve it. The DP34 looks like this:

Dish Network DishPRO DP34 Switch

Thanks for your quick reply.:) The picture you had was the same as in the instructions but to be safe I looked all around my house and roof just to be sure. I didn't find anything resembling a switch and my system is pretty new so I probably never had one. I just wanted to be sure because Dish sent me a letter saying they would debit my account BIG time if I didn't return their equipment. Dish probably wouldn't have forced me to go up on the roof and remove their LNBF but I bet they would have dinged my account for it and just didn't want to chance it. One thing why do they care so much about that LNBF? Is it worth a lot of money, can you steal channels with it or something? It seems that if they wanted it back so badly they could have sent a technician to come get it. Dish acts like it's a made of gold covered in diamonds. LOL!

I cancelled and sent back the two receivers. Dish can come get the LNB if they want it!!!!!

They want back what they can reuse. the lnb's for the plus are the same for all antennas. The switch can still be used. Like when I got the 1000.4 antenna yesterday and the dish replaced, a super dish, is no longer used. The lnb's were removed and kept by dish, and the dish and its hardward ended up in the trash at the curb, and was picked up a few minutes later. Norally pickup is about 7:30am, but it was late because of streets still being closed from a weekend afair near here. My other two dishes and the DP44 were mine and I have them all (to sell on eBay)

Thanks for all your replies and your help. You all have a good night. I have to get some sleep I have to get up extremely early tomorrow. :(
