This kind of stuff "never" happens to D* customers. Important notice for DirecTV subscribers There is a possibility this station could cease being carried by DirecTV at midnight on Dec. 31 if ongoing negotiations fail. This banner is being run by all the Raycom Media stations on there stations. This is on the web sites of all Raycom stations now. Important notice for DirecTV subscribers

Raycom Media, this station's parent company, is currently in good faith negotiations with DirecTV to ensure the continued availability of this television station and the popular news and entertainment programs you enjoy on DirecTV. We are hopeful of a positive outcome and will keep you informed on the progress of the negotiations. There is a possibility we could cease being carried by DirecTV on January 1 if these negotiations fail.

This is 1st time to start a thread in the D* forums. But thought you guys should know that all these local stations are now running banners over programming due to the dispute.

Be that as it may it applies to both E* & D* that is retrans disputes. And BTW wasn't trolling just letting you D* guys know what is going on w/ the Raycom stations.
The D* people come over to E* forums and post statements about it "never" happening at D*. I was just pointing out that it does happen to both. Reason it may sound like it to you is I just copied what I said on E* forum and pasted it here. No reason to retype the same thing I figured.

You are making at big thing out of next to nothing. I came over here to inform you guys PERIOD. What you are making of it is your own feelings. I'm justifying posting it in both forums is all. Boy maybe I should have posted it in the war zone the way you guys are reacting. You D* guys are really giving me a warm a fuzzy feeling just trying to inform you that TV stations are trying to screw both providers. You keep using "you". Look, I dont go over there, I hate Dish, and want nothing to do with that forum. If people who own Directv are coming over there and bothering you, handle it over there. Ive seen enough to know exactly where the wording of your post intended to go, so it IS trolling, and you got your responses. Now, I think we have a bridge around here somewhere...

Your whole reason for being here right now, is because Directv posters have obviously pissed you off, and now here is your shot to nudge back, which is immature. So is the argument "some of you do it, so can I"

BS I came over her to LET YOU GUYS know what was going on PERIOD. It is just plain and simple that 2 of you are offended that some one from the E* side has scooped you on a D* story. It applies to both D* & E*; so I posted it in both forums. I guess next time I find out something that is going to happen to D* I just go to the war zone since that is all you and Iceberg have turned it into. I had NO INTENT of turning this into a D* vs E* thread but the 2 of you sure have.

You didn't SCOOP anyone, unless it was your opinion that it had to be had right away.

I am in the same boat as you, My local CBS will be affected, so YES, I'm hoping that they come to an agreement.
I would think that they would no want to be losing Locals, but remember it's the PARENT company thats doing the talking, not the local guy.

IF you have info on where we can find out current info on the negotiations that would be great.
I went to my local website and there's not any word about it, that I could fine, but the scroll on the screen during prime time last night told everyone in the area.

I don't have a problem with your post at all, thats said, when you purposely point out the word Never, that tends to mean your one Upping the provider, at least thats the way I saw it.

This kinda stuff happens to ALL providers from time to time.
Keep in mind that D* has NOT lost the channel yet, so it may be something that doesn't even happen.

I explained that I had just copied and pasted it. I didn't think I had to change the wording. Ice had 1 post in which he called me a troll. as I wasn't I'm due an apology that I doubt I will ever get. elwaylite has been a royal jerk on this. He evidently is easily offended. There has been no info on any talks tween the two. It just seems that Raycom is taking a play from the Fox playbook on the dispute w/ E*.

Boy maybe this saying is right "people always kiss you before they screw ya". You post in the FTA area with an issue and I have tried to HELP you with it because that is what I do. Help folks. Yet a Dish sub posts an article, adds his own 2 cents of "this never happens to D*" yet when its responded to you get all pissy. What would happen if I posted an article about Dish retrans dispute in the Dish area and added something like "well here we go again." The "hardcore" Dish subs would lynch me.

As for being offended I dont care who posts it if its informative. I care when someone adds their own "jab" at it full knowing they have the other provider.

So now Im a jerk, and get easily offended. Ice's post sums it up, if the same thing would been posted with the same wording over there, it would be hit the same way. If you remove the first "comment", I have no problem with it. Yet you are shocked when you catch grief for teetering the trolling line.

I put the never sentence is to show show that it does happens to both and if you posted in the E* forum that something like this is happened to E* it would be business as usual. Since it is normal for it to happen there. Saying sounds like trolling IS the same as calling someone a troll. I know you have tried to help in the FTA area and thanks this is something different.

Yes you have acted like a jerk. I can't remove the 1st sentence. As there is no option to edit after a couple of others have posted after it. Seems like most would know that. Unless you are a mod it just isn't possible to do what is asked here. At the point that both you & Ice posted I couldn't do a thing about it but defend myself. And yes I got pissy due to not really meaning much by what the 2 of you got offended about.

With all that has happened lately I really don't think so, as I said it is biz a usual. Then maybe D* people should stop going on to E* site and being royal pains and causing this animosity tween the 2 sides. Like a certain person that still comes over to say he could do a better job running E* than Charlie. We all know who that is.

Good point, but not likely to happen.
This is all one BIG website, were all on the same side here, on the site.

That said, it's very common for the DISH guy to come over here and hollar about how great something is at DISH, if they have something that D* doesn't....

This is only the 3rd time I've been over here. 1st thread start & twice when some guys were saying nasty things about E* members. I was 1 that was being attack even though I had never been on the D* side.

FWIW, in my market Time Warner customers are about to lose our local ABC and My Network TV stations due to a retrans dispute with Sinclair.

It does happen to everybody.
