circular lnb to linear lnb convert

I got this rarely seen lnb, round shape, ku band circular single lnb, lo=10.750 Ghz, Input=11.70-12.75 Ghz, NF=0.5 dB

seems like the frequency (11.70-) is fine for fta, however the circular polarization is a problem
thinking of taking off the front cap and removing inside the plates to make it linear
would this work ?

That lnb is made for "eye-patchers" to get 118w and 119w on the same lnb....not sure if its possible to get linear TPs with it....

Had one like that when they first came out.....pile of crap in my opinion

I gutted mine and took out the dialetic plate in the middle then it worked fine on linear. Found the post

High production circular LNBFs have a little fin inside the feed tube to make 'em work on circular.
It's cast into the metal.
If your unit is made with that technology (instead of the teflon plate), then you'd have to remove the metal with a hand grinder.

So, agreeing with Iceberg, I wouldn't pay real money for one.
Of course, if you found one for free, by all means take a look.

circular lnb to linear convert

removed white front plastic cap (with a help of heat gun)

inside is a white piece of plastic , placed in a 45 degree angle
on both end , a wide "V" shaped cut out, almost as wide as the plastic

removed plastic piece

behind at 3 o'clock there is a round metal pin goes horizontally until halfway
further in, at 6 o' clock there is another round metal pin vertically up about 1/3
above it, a larger diameter horizontal pin goes all the way across between the metal walls

I am going to try it out with plastic piece removed, point it to the strong 101w and see what happens .....it was free, nothing to loose

did a quick test run on a 18" oval starchoice plastic dish in a light drizzle
got 101w History with 57%, 97w presstv 48%, 95w cctv-e 68%
these readings are similar to any other "no name" linear lnbs I have
this lnb is definately a keeper, time to put it to "non-evil" use
