I am thinking to setup a satellite antenna to watch Intelsat 12 and Intelsat 906 at first. Want to know what I need for this (Antenna, receiver and so forth). This will be my first setup.

Have anyone noticed these satellites when you scan. I live in LA. According to the LyngSat site, it is available.

All suggestions are welcome. Thank you.

I am sorry for wording it wrong. It needs to be corrected as IntelSat 12 and IntelSat 906. Thank you Scott for noticing it. :)

You will not be able to see those satellites from L.A., they are on the other side of the planet and not visible from your location.

I captured this screenshot from LyngSat web site. It gives the position INFO for relevant satellites. But, I do not know what is EIRP value and its connection to watch these channels from California.

Are you sure, I cannot watch these channels even after seeing this INFO. Please advise!

Thank you.

Basically, an EIRP value of zero means you can't get it. Also, if you look at the beam, sometimes you may be able to see a satellite, but it isn't beaming anything in your direction. But in the case of the two satellites you list, you can't even see them (below the horizon).
