Hopper & Joey out of sync

I have a Hopper in the den and a joey in the kitchen in a place where it can be seen from the den while watching the Hopper. I have noticed that when watching the same channel and even the same tuner that the Joey is about 2 seconds behind the Hopper. Is this normal? Can it be adjusted? Nether tv can be moved (wife issues) and this issue just bothers me.

This has been brought up previously and as far as anyone knows there's no way to fix it. Because a signal travels back and forth through the MoCa network there's seems to be a slight delay. Your situation is a rare one and not what the system was really designed for.

Thanks, that answer makes since. These are the little things that make the difference between a good product and a great product. The other issue that can cause is the pause in one room to continue in another room will also be out of sync. This would affect many more people.

The delay is normal and there will be some latency due to the MoCa Network.

So the fix is easy, delay the Hopper while the encoding is taking place. This puts them in snyc and the Hopper /Joey become a better product.

True, but that may increase the size and cost of the Joey and it's too late for the installed base. The delay would just be a software change.

would the existing solo and duo nodes even support a joey with a tuner inside? It seems like everything that has a tuner is on the host lines with RG6. Then the joeys can use even RG59.

The OP wants something the system wasn't designed for. If he wants synchronized watching in adjacent rooms he should just put another Hopper in there and not ask everyone else to pay for a revised, more expensive, system with tuners in Joeys.

(Or put Joeys in those rooms and the Hopper somewhere else.)

BTW, trying to delay the Hopper doesn't work. If you try to delay a second or even just a few, it always reverts to "live" tv. This issue also bugs me, but I found ways around it (mute one or the other tv most of the time).

mirror the hopper with coax to the kitchen (SD) with no joey. I had similar problem with my 722 when passing thru a sound system (delayed audio) and the echo drives you nuts.
