Its never too early to talk about the college bowl schedule. I'm gearing up for the Famous Potato Idaho Bowl. Basically, ESPN has a monopoly on the bowl schedule as they are showing every game except 2, The Sun Bowl on CBS and The Cotton Bowl on FOX. The ironic thing is that the TicketCity Bowl is played in the Cotton Bowl and The Cotton Bowl is being played in Arlington, Texas.

Is this a MisPrint ?
The Cotton bowl shows being on ESPNU.

I believe the Orange Bowl is the samething. Dont they play that game where the Dolphins play and not the Orange Bowl?

What happened to the regular NCAA football thread. It was there about 20 minutes ago but its gone now.

The Orange bowl (stadium) doesnt exist anymore.....thats where the new Marlins stadium is :)

The Orange Bowl game has been played at "Fill in the blank" stadium (Joe Robbie, Dolphin, Sun Life, Landshark, Pro Player) for at least 10 years

It was moved to the Home Theater/AV Receiver forum. A mod must have accidently moved it. I sent a flag to the moderators to fix it.

The bowls have started and what do you think so far? Havent watched to much of them yet. I should've but I didnt. Tomorrow night, Christmas Eve, there is a bowl game, The Hawaii Bowl, ESPN 8PM between SMU and Fresno St. So far seems like the New Mexico Bowl was a willd one. Dont forget Wed. there is the Little Caesar's Pizza Bowl between Central Michigan and Western Kentucky.

Wow, what a finish in the Belk Bowl!! I mean Im a casual college football fan as it is but Duke blew it. A fumble and an INT? To be fair, the Duke QB got nailed on the last play.

Overall, the games have been very exciting this year. Today's games promise to be ever better than the Central Michigan-Western Kentucky and Cincinnati-Duke matchups:

Ohio (8-4) vs. LA-Monroe (8-4): LAM started off with a big overtime win against Arkansas followed by two last minutes losses to Auburn and Baylor. Meanwhile, Ohio started off the season with a huge win @ Penn State, but they limped over the finish line losing 4 of their last 5 give games, with 20+ losses at Ball State and Kent State. Anyway, I have LAM winning this one 38-31.

Rutgers (9-3) vs. Virginia Tech (6-6): Rutgers finished the year with disappointing losses against Pittsburgh and Louisville after the program was having one of the best seasons in many, many years. Still have have a number of weapons on both sides of the ball and should come out motivated. The Hokies had a terrible season, but managed to finish at .500 with narrow wins against Boston College and Virginia (two crappy teams) to close out the season. I think the Hokies will come out motivated to win this one and finish the season above the .500 mark. Unfortunately, I think Rutgers will have a little too much for VT this season; Rutgers wins 23-20.

Minnesota (6-6) vs. Texas Tech (7-5): Texas Tech started off the season well and scored big back-to-back mid-season wins over then #5 West Virginia and #23 TCU. Of course, they finished their season losing 4 out of 5 but, in their defense, three losses were against ranked teams, all four losses were against bowl-bound teams, and they were competitive. Meanwhile, the Golden Gophers was one of those streaky teams who were hard to figure out. However, they were generally beaten soundly (two touchdowns are more) by the bowl bound teams so I'm predicting they will fold like a house of cards in a wind tunnel; Texas Tech wins 35-17

Hmmm, just thinking, isn't Va Tech the team that gets touted for having the most consecutive 10 Win seasons and counting ?

I guess that ENDS this year as well.

Yep, I haven't followed the Hokies at all this year (which is slightly less than most) so I have no idea what's going on in Blacksburg. So what's up with this years team (injuries, freshman, lack of talent in key positions?) and what are their prospects for next season? This is a big game for VATech because it will indicate whether they finish above or below .500
