I did an install, 2H 3J, last week. When I went to link the joeys with the proper Hopper, I found that they were linking with both, and that when you hit the red tuner button it brought up all 6 tuners from both Hoppers. Even the Hoppers showed 6 total tuners from both the Hoppers. That is part of why I decided to got from 1H/2j to 2H/1J. but after upgrading the Hopper, I can not get the Joey to link to both Hoppers. Anyone know what is going on?

That is weird... Either a bug or some new software. Leaning towards bug.

You sure that you weren't just seeing the Hoppers pulling the "Big Four" in while having two more sat tuners remaining? You can test it out on your own Hopper by tuning into any one of the "Big Four" then pressing the RED button.

Yes, when I selected the new hopper from the Joeys, it didn't un-link from the old, and the list of 6 tuners was all blue, "the big four" are grey. Even each Hopper listed 6 "blue" tuners. This pisses me off if it was just some bug, it is the only reason I upgraded. I like to have ball games in sync on all TVs and I could only do that if the Hoppers could lock to each others tuners. I am going back to that house today and I will double check that, and what software version they are on.

Well, a Joey LINKED to one Hopper can access the other Hopper via DVR My Recordings by just moving to the GRAY bar with the Hopper name drop down menu, and select it, and the other Hopper should be available for quick access. Yes, this is from a JOEY. This is the case with a Joey connected to Ethernet, and another Joey NOT connected to Ethernet in my set-up. All my Joeys can access the OTHER Hopper in this manner without having to UNlink, then Link. You could use that access to view content while it is recording on the OTHER Hopper, then switch back (by pressing Live TV button) to return to the Hopper the Joey is linked to or by pressing the Red button for the TV Viewing Status Screen to select the appropriate tuner for your linked Hopper. Of course this does not provide access to the other Hoppers tuners, but if you set your games to record, you don't need to access the other Hopper's tuners, just the program as it is recording with very little delay (I don't know if the LIVE TV option shows up in this scenario, but probably not), that would seem to be quite a good solution.

Also, anytime at least ONE Joey or Hopper in the system that are LINKED to each other, tunes to one of the big four, any subsequent user who also tunes to the big 4 will access it from the SAME TUNER as the first viewer, meaning that no additional tuners will be used of more than one person wishes to watch the big 4 at the same time. This is similar to PTAT, but not exactly. Anytime one person is tuned to one of the big 4, the big 4 appear as GRAY on your TV Viewing Status screen.

Im seeing similar behavior on my newly installed system. On one hopper and any Joeys linked to that hopper, the tv viewing status screen shows all six tuners (both hoppers). The Joey's can join /view a program on any of the six tuners but they can only control the three tuners of the hopper they are linked to. On the other hopper an any Joeys linked to it, I only see the three tuners of that hopper.
