Just got an e-mail update.

?Will this be HD?

Don't know about HD or not, but thanks for the info. I did not receive that email.

I'm looking forward to seeing the TV coverage. In the past I have checked out the English language website and found the coverage to be very good. No bias expressed - just reporting of information.

It's somewhat like watching Brian Williams coverage of the news on NBC vs. ABC and CBS. A number of different stories not covered by the others and an unbiased slant, although sometimes delivered with a subtle, wry sense of humor.

The only other places in the US to get info not covered anywhere else is on the Daily Show and Colbert Report - and those aren't even supposed to be news! (flame away :)

What ever channel it goes to , I will block it. I do not ever plan to watch it.

Might it not be a better idea to see what they are putting out first? You might be right or you might be pleasantly surprised. Why not find out and deceide for yourself?

It's been announced that AJE's live stream will be "geoblocked" in the USA once AJ America launches. As it is, Globecast World TV has announced it will drop AJE today (the 9th).

BTW: Assuming it takes Current TV's channel position, you'll find AJAM on dish 215 from the 20th.

A lot of journalists from Al Jazeera quit last month in protest of Al Jazeera's support of the brutal Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.

The American Al Jazeera channel will have the same politics of MSNBC.

I look forward to having a decent source of global news. Some of you may disagree with their politics, but at least they don't pretend news is only important when it affects Americans.

But I hope this doesn't mean Veria is going away. Don't watch it much, but they have some cool stuff occasionally.

get a roku ..they have plenty of "world news"..french,german and "PressTV"

I'm guessing the poster has the incorrect channel for it. I'm disappointed they will be almost 100% domestic news.

I am a news junkie. AJE is ok, nothing can beat NPR for world news coverage. Now AJA ( Arabic) their coverage is excellent and very good.

I love foreign news. I find Al Jazera interesting.
I don't take their politics seriously.
I also enjoy RT news. It's great to see what are countries are thinking.
