It's that time, once again, for another carriage dispute...

DISH Sports Value dot com

Our contract to carry SportsTime Ohio has expired and they have decided to block this channel from DISH’s channel lineup.

SportsTime Ohio is demanding an unreasonable rate increase to carry this channel. We are working around the clock to reach a fair and reasonable agreement with SportsTime Ohio.

I made my annual phone call to customer service the other day, yet another year without an RSN, even though I'm paying for it as part of my fee. The result? $5 off a month for the next year. I still would be happy to pay it if I got MSG and SNY as a result. This is what, year four of this nonsense? The two EHDs with almost 2 TB of movies are mostly what has kept me from jumping elsewhere.

So now Western NY has NO RSN on Dish. NO MSG, NO SNY, NO YES  and now no STO.

There is Root Sports from Pittsburgh. But Charlie hates NY sports teams so instead we get force fed Pittsburgh sports. If STO stayed away, I would have no issue with it since it only carries Indians games.

FOX owning the channel may be the reason why it takes them a long time to come with a deal.

FOX and DISH are not buddies at the moment. Remember FOX is leading the lawsuits against DISH for the Hopper, Prime Time Any Time and AutoHop.

Forget Fox, forget STO! Enough of this RSN highway robbery. If they think their content is that important to viewers, go a la carte and just see how many bite. Just another channel created to get more out of the cash cow. You used to watch the Cavs and Indians on one channel. Enough with the greed.

I dont know if it is location based but the only RSN I receive after they dropped MSG was STO. ROOT doesnt even show up in my program guide. I'm in the southern tier closer to PIT than CLE too!

It's channel 428. Make sure you are looking at All Channels.

Its a shame we have to loose another sports channel on dish. I blame Fox sports, they own sto. Look at what some of the other sports channels pay to get the games on their channel. This money goes to pay for player salaries. Its all about money. I blame big TV contracts for our over paid sports athletes today. If you want your sports. Go to direct tv to watch sports. Fox and direct tv sleep in the same bed.

NO Sports Time Ohio

Just found out that Dish is no longer carrying Sports Time Ohio. Guess they are fighting over price. So my Browns finally get a new head coach and I can't follow all of the action (no Browns comments please ). Plus this could mean no high school tournament action and no Reds baseball.
Does anyone have any information on this.

Reds baseball is on Fox Sports Ohio not Sports Time Ohio.

Rooting for a better season for the Browns as long as they finish second to the Bengals. :)

There already is a thread for this. It has 11 posts in it and hasn't been updated in 2 days. I guess not many care about it. Maybe when Indians season starts more people will speak up.

Yes you are correct with the Reds on Fox Sports Ohio. I panicked there for a moment thinking no Browns coverage and no Reds. Hopefully the Indians fans speak up also and we get STO back on Dish.

I don't see why Ohio needs three Fox Sports owned channels. It seems like highway robbery and dilution of the channel content, except that 90% of the time Fox Sports RSN's show the same content.

Fox Sports Ohio
Fox Sports Cincinnati
Sports Time Ohio
