I finally made the jump to Hopper (pun intended) with an eBay purchased receiver. I had a bit of a problem activating thru chat, but ZachS was able to resolve it in less than the blink on an eye.
Now all I have to do is learn the new system, and wire up my 2nd room mirroring!

Welcome aboard.

I hope I sent the link correctly. You more than likely are using the HDMI output from your Hopper to your main TV, which leaves the component outputs unused. You hook the transmitter to the Hopper and the receiver via cat whatever to your mirrored TV. Being the remote is RF, you can change channels at your mirrored TV location.

would this same type of setup work mirroring a joey?

What method are you going to use to mirror? I did it by using cat5e and component extenders. Works well.

I'm using an RF modulator and a pair of diplexors. Pretty much unplugged my VIP 722 and inserted the hopper w/ RF modulator and changed channel on 2nd TV to 4. Works well although my old UHF remote doesn't seem to have as much range with the hopper. Might try tweaking the antenna or just live with the dance remote in master bedroom.

does this mean the 2nd tv receive hd with this setup?

Yes, it would be HD, 1080i and 720P. I use this setup on my patio. Have a cat5e jack out there. I simply connect to the extender. Also have 2 speakers out there going to my receiver for great sound. You can just simply use the speakers in your TV, but they are usually lousy.

The picture quality is excellent. More than I need for just temporarily taking a spare LCD out to my patio. My home is wired with CAT5E Belden Media Twist. (Leftovers from work. It's expensive) The cable run is about 100 feet from my Family Room to my patch panel in my attic and back to my patio which is right next to my Family Room. The Hopper Remote is RF so channel surfing is no problem.
