XBOX One Owners Thread

Last night I came to a bit of a revelation in terms of my Xbox One purchase. It's fairly apparent that the MCC bundle is not happening, let alone a bundle with the Kinect. So instead I'm just going to wait until the Sunset Overdrive bundle becomes available again, cash in some credit card points for Amazon gift cards, and then bring down the costs that way. I'll hold off on getting the Kinect until it comes down to ~$100, which it will do eventually. The Kinect I have now on 360 I got as a refurb for < $100, so I may as well do the same with the One version. Yes, the One multimedia experience will be hurt by this, but I can't justify getting a console without a game, OR compromising and getting the Unity bundle, which contains 2 games that I don't really want, nor do I want to go through the hassle of selling 2 game codes to recoup my money to put towards MCC. At least with the Sunset Overdrive bundle, right off the bat I'm getting a game that I want to get. Also it's not like the Kinect for the One has a bunch of compelling software for it at the moment. I already have Dance Central on the 360 with nearly 100 songs, and Fantasia is also available on the 360 (I'm not selling my 360 because I have so much software on it that I can't part with it.) I also don't really feel the need to wait until Black Friday/Cyber Monday as I don't see retailers giving additional discounts on already discounted One bundles (and I'm also itching to get back into Halo Multiplayer) .

Have X1 BF bundles been announced? If not, I personally would hold out in the event a BF-only deal includes the MCC. I've seen a lot of BF-only deals for the various systems over the past few years, and I don't see any reason bundle-happy MS wouldn't put out another one, even if it's exclusive to certain retailers...though I'd be surprised if it included Kinect. BF ads should start getting leaked over the next week or two.

I'm seriously considering an AC bundle with Kinect, but hope that for BF retailers throw in another game or a year of Gold or an extra controller. I'd probably get it at Best Buy for the additional 5% or 18-month interest free financing with my BB credit card.

I bit..

I'm not going to torture myself searching to find a Sunset Overdrive bundle. As far as my Amazon gift cards go, I'll just use them to buy the games, specifically SO and MCC. And I have better things to do than go hunting on Black Friday/Cyber Monday (not that there's anything wrong with that.) Console with an extra controller is a pretty good deal IMO. Now I have to order MCC.

Just in time for MCC.

Well that depends on how the shipping gods treat me with the One. I don't mind if I miss a day or two. The game is arriving on 11/11 thanks to Amazon. I'm interested to see how the M$ servers are going to handle all those requests for those 20GB Day One patch downloads. It looks like I'm going to have to really start to make some friends, because as much as I love Halo multiplayer, I do NOT like the matchmaking system and it's lack of customization. I miss the old days of Gamespy and LAN/Local play where you could set all the rules for the matches and spice things up a bit. I like doing weird games, like playing Chiron (a map with numerous portals) with all shotguns and no shields and permanent invisibility. Of course I'll still do regular matches as well, but for me to get the full experience I'm going to need to set up some private/custom matches, perhaps akin to what we did years ago with Halo 3 on Satguys (hint hint.)

On a related note, since I finally came to grips with that I'm getting AC: Unity, a game I've paid NO attention to other than reading about the resolution/FPS controversies, I decided to actually look up some info on the game. Then I saw this trailer.

I realize a bunch of this is marketing hype, but I have to say if they really pull this stuff off with enhanced AI, stealth and combat I then I may end up really enjoying the game. Part of why I fell out of favor with AC:4 was that I felt like I was doing all the same stuff I was doing since 2, and I didn't care for the ship sections.

We used to play private matches of Halo over the campus LAN when I lived in the dorms. It was a pretty cool setup. I'd be up for trying some out if we can get enough Sat Guys together. I have a couple friends who will probably be playing MCC online but not enough for private matches.

I wouldn't mind partying up with Sat Guys and just entering standard matchmaking together either. I'm preloaded and ready to go for 11/11. I know we have a gamertag thread but I'll post mine here too for anyone who wants to team up. If your gamertag isn't obvious from your Sat Guys name just include a message letting me know who you are.

Gamertag: PatJK25.

Looks like the big Day 1 patch is done and is also available for preload.

At the end of the day it turns out MCC takes up 59.1 GB of storage. I'm glad they did the patch early so the servers won't be too bogged down on Day 1.

Eurogamer is doing a Lets Play of the Multiplayer and Forge modes. I'm salivating. I REALLY hope I get my Xbox One in a timely manner.

I'm going to be staring at this page like a mental patient, waiting for the highlighted section to change..

This reminds me back in 2000 when I was waiting on a PS2 and my first game arrived before I got the actual system. I unfortunately foresee a similar scenario..

I know this isn't helpful at this point but you probably could have selected in store pickup from your local store. You might have been able to get it out of your store's stock and had it for the weekend.

I'm pretty sure this is an online only deal. Costco's online inventory isn't the same as their store inventory. I did consider calling them to confirm. Maybe I'll do that and just cancel this order if I can pickup.

So I ended up going to Costco today and see what they had (I had other shopping to do also.) They had a bunch of AC:U Bundles. They didn't have a controller BUT they were $15 cheaper than MSRP (although for some reason they were priced as $384 with a $50 instant rebate.) So as a result I picked one up there and cancelled my online order. Not sure if I'll get to setting it up tonight as I really have no games for it (I'm not about to start a quest of AC:4 with U and MCC coming on Tuesday.)

In any case, I'm set for 11/11 and beyond.

So I've just decided to get my bro an xbox one for Christmas. Now I need to figure out which bundle (including a kinect) is the best deal. The kinect is key because I want him to be able to skype so my parents can see my nephew more often. I haven't been following this as closely as some in this thread, do I was wondering if anyone had thoughts on this, whether Black Friday deals are expected to be better, and whether I'd be better off getting a kinect separate from the main bundle.

The Assassin's Creed bundle come without Kinect for $350 or with Kinect for $450. As far as I know that's the only current bundle that comes with Kinect.

I would still set it up this weekend. That way you can get any console updates out of the way before you try to sit down and play MCC. You are already going to have a 20GB patch for MCC to deal with so you may as well get everything else out of the way. You can also get Unity preloaded.

Actually it's a 15GB patch now.

I suppose it makes sense to get the console ready, although it just feels weird to have a console set up with no games to play for it. I guess I could see what's out there for Games With Gold. In the meantime I can give my PS4 some love with CoD: AW

I noticed that my system already received the patch. The MCC is now taking up 59.4GB on my hard drive. Even though I shouldn't I'll probably stay up late Monday night and play an hour of multiplayer as soon as it unlocks.

Could try out EA Access, Warframe, or a number of demos.

So I looked into it and saw that the Black Friday prices weren't anything special. Used some Amazon gift cards to get the unity bundle and Xbox live gold sub for an extra $120 out the door.

I bit as well. Picked up the AC bundle, no kinect, at Bestbuy today. Included a 12month xbox live card for free. Had a 10% off coupon, so $315 out the door. I have no desire to play either Assassin's Creed games. Anyone know if it's okay to post in the classified? Or would this fall under computer software. Going rate for the 2 digital download games on fleabay is ~$50.
If anyone is interested, PM me. I'd let them go for $45.
