How The Flash Changed Arrow's Direction In A Key Way http://www.cinemablend.com/television/How-Flash-Changed-Arrow-Direction-Key-Way-68597.html
Fans of the CW know that the network's two DC Comics shows have worked to develop separate identities. The Flash is the fun superhero show, filled with metahumans and geeky humor, while Arrow is the darker and more grounded superhero series. However, now that the two shows have combined forces for the upcoming Arrow and The Flash crossover episodes, Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim says the crossover helped him to change his mind about Arrow’s capacity to use metahumans on the series. "What's fun about episode 8 for Arrow is it proved to me, as a writer and a producer, hey, you know what? You can do metahumans on Arrow without feeling like the show is changing its tone too much. "

Robbie Amell Teases Firestorm's First "Flash" Appearance
Fans of "The Flash" have already seen Robbie Amell on the series in flashbacks as Ronnie Raymond, fiancee to Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) and structural engineer for the S.T.A.R. Labs particle accelerator, who was trapped in its core chamber before the explosion. Given Ronnie Raymond's comic book history, it should come as little surprise that Robbie Amell is set for a return to the show -- but he's going to look very different. While speaking with Access Hollywood, Amell said that viewers might not even recognize him at first when he reappears on "The Flash."
"I look ridiculous when you see me next," Amell told Access Hollywood. "Most people won't even recognize me for a couple seconds when you see my character return -- but you'll know it's Firestorm shortly after." The actor also noted that he will return wearing a wig and fake facial hair, and went on to discuss the involvement of Victor Garber -- who is set to play Dr. Martin Stein, the other half of the Firestorm character.
"You don't know if I'm good or bad when I show up, and you will find out that there's something going on mentally. I'm not exactly the same person I was when I left," he said. "I've got Victor Garber in my head, which is terrifying because Victor Garber is this amazing, incredible actor and I have to do a Victor Garber impression for a bit of an episode, which is an actor's dream and an actor's nightmare."Amell further teased that both he and his cousin -- "Arrow's" Stephen Amell -- will both appear in the "Arrow" crossover episode of "The Flash." Video here of him talking this... http://bcove.me/y5tbo3r9

"The Flash" airs Wednesdays on the CW.

CW's ‘Flash’ Takes on ‘Arrow’ in Epic Crossover Event Trailer (Video) https://tv.yahoo.com/news/cws-flash-takes-arrow-epic-crossover-event-trailer-054400553.html
It had to happen, and it was bound to be epic. In the trailer for the first full crossover between The CW's “Arrow” and “The Flash,” it looks like fans are in for a superhero odd couple. Grant Gustin's light-hearted take on the fastest man alive is a far cry from Stephen Amell's grim and gritty Arrow, but that's a lot of what makes the crossover look like so much fun.Happening across two nights on both shows, the crossover promises team-ups and a superhero brawl between the two DC Comics heroes.“Barry has super-powers,” Danielle Panabaker‘s Dr. Snow says at one point in comparing the two heroes. “Oliver has a bow-and-arrow.”But don't count Mr. Queen out just yet. Like Batman, he knows to use his smarts when faced with super-powered foes … or allies. Plus, now in his third season on the air, the Arrow has been at this hero business a lot longer than the Flash.
The crossover begins Tuesday, Dec. 2 on The CW. Watch the trailer. The Flash 1x08 Promo "Flash vs. Arrow" (HD) Flash/Arrow Crossover Event.........The Flash 1x08 "Flash vs. Arrow" - PART ONE OF THE EPIC CROSSOVER EVENT WITH THE FLASH AND ARROW — Barry (Grant Gustin) is thrilled when Oliver (guest star Stephen Amell), Felicity (guest star Emily Bett Rickards) and Diggle (guest star David Ramsey) come to Central City to investigate a case involving a deadly boomerang. Excited about teaming up with his friend, Barry asks Oliver if he’d like to help him stop Ray Bivolo (guest star Patrick Sabongui), the meta-human Barry is currently tracking. Bivolo causes people to lose control of their emotions and has been using that skill to rob banks. Unfortunately, the superhero partnership doesn’t go as smoothly as Barry expected. When Oliver tells Barry he still has a lot to learn, Barry sets out to prove him wrong by attempting to stop Bivolo alone. However, when Bivolo infects Barry and sets him on a rage rampage, everyone is in danger, and the only one who can stop him is the Arrow. Meanwhile, Iris (Candice Patton) is furious when Eddie (Rick Cosnett) tries to get a task force to stop The Flash, Joe and Dr. Wells (Tom Cavanagh) agree the Arrow is a bad influence on Barry, and Caitlin and Cisco deal with a new team in S.T.A.R. Labs. Glen Winter directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Ben Sokolowski & Brooke Eikmeier (#107). Original airdate 12/2/20

10 Flash Powers We Want To See Barry Use On The Show http://www.cinemablend.com/television/10-Flash-Powers-We-Want-See-Barry-Use-Show-68591.html
In DC Comics, The Flash’s powers can be surmised simply as “super speed,” but the reality is that the Scarlett Speedster’s abilities go far beyond that description. More than just being able to run really, really fast, there are many applications of this power set, and while we’ve already seen a few of them on display in the brand new CW series that has been airing this fall, the truth is that they are right now only scratching the surface.Looking at both the powers we’ve already seen on Flash as well as the long history of the character in DC Comics, we’ve put together a special feature looking at 10 great abilities that we hope so see in future episodes of the show. Read on!

The Lois Lane Problem: Enough With Clueless TV Sidekicks http://news.yahoo.com/lois-lane-problem-enough-clueless-tv-sidekicks-131500494.html
For a freshman show, the CW’s The Flash has taken off on the, ahem, right foot: Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen is appealing, the villains of the week are challenging, and the storytelling is, so far, thrilling. The lone Achilles’ heel in all this? The character of Iris West. It’s not her fault, nor is it actress Candice Patton’s. Iris is a compelling and necessary asset to Barry Allen’s origin story. She’s the girl he grew up with, making her his best friend and confidante. She’s smart, she’s cool, and she’s got a mean right cross.

CW's Flash vs. Arrow Crossover Continues With New Trailer (Video)https://tv.yahoo.com/news/cws-flash-vs-arrow-crossover-continues-trailer-video-045900571.html After Stephen Amell's brooding Arrow dried to bring down Grant Gustin's light-hearted superheroics as The Flash in the first part of their epic CW crossover, it's time for The Flash to return the favor. “Flash vs. Arrow” continues Wednesday night at 8 p.m. ET on “Arrow.”

'Flash vs Arrow' is the Goldilocks of Superhero Media http://www.forbes.com/sites/merrill...s-arrow-is-the-goldilocks-of-superhero-media/
Yesterday, Forbes contributor Scott Mendelson took a moment to break down all the reasons why the CW’s Flash vs Arrow event is, in many ways, the endgame of a journey that began as DC and Warner Bros.’ attempt to utilize the lessons learned from Marvel’s Iron Man. However, something that stands out as a case that’s yet to be made is the fact that, unlike many others, the crossover event that continues tonight also happens to be the culmination of what’s turned out to be a rare goldilocks moment for live action superhero media. Like it or not, “Flash vs Arrow” is the most well-balanced piece of comic book adapted content to grace audiences in a long time, possibly ever. The Flash-Flash Reverse-Flash
will be introducing Reverse-Flash very soon and That seems more like a season finale sort of thing. The iconic adversary’s introduction apparently was — wait for it — fast-tracked. In the midseason finale (airing Dec. 9), “Barry and Reverse-Flash come face-to-face,” Grant Gustin affirms. The actor then makes clear that it’s not The Flash who meets the foe, but Barry—”and it rocks him, to say the least. It terrifies him.” After it is confirmed to Barry that Reverse-Flash killed his mom, “It’s kind of a relief in some ways, because it confirms that Barry isn’t crazy and that what he thought he saw as a kid is true,” Gustin previews. “Now he is more determined than ever to find this guy and stop him, kill him. This might be a special circumstance where Barry would break a neck.”

As the shows' winter finales approach, several looming questions are about to be answered. On The Flash, the man in the yellow suit (Reverse-Flash?) -- the one responsible for the death of Barry's mother -- comes into clearer focus while Arrow stages one of the biggest sword fights to date. Epic. The Flash - The Man in the Yellow Suit Trailer......For every action, there is an opposite and equal reaction. Don't miss the mid-season finale of #TheFlash Tuesday at 8/7c!

The Flash: Stars Wars' Mark Hamill to Reprise '90s Role as The Trickster https://tv.yahoo.com/news/flash-stars-wars-mark-hamill-145938157.html
The Trickster awakens.Star Wars icon Mark Hamill will guest-star on The CW’s The Flash this season, reprising his role from the 1990s edition of the superhero series as James Jesse aka The Trickster, HitFix’s Alan Sepinwall reports. On the old Flash series, Hamill tormented John Wesley Shipp, who on The CW’s freshman hit plays Barry Allen’s wrongly incarcerated father. Now, James Jesse is serving a life sentence at Iron Heights as a next-gen Trickster pranks Central City and The Flash.“Having Mark reprise his role as The Trickster was on our original wish list when we were planning our version of The Flash,” exec producer Andrew Kreisberg tells HitFix. “Christmas and Chanukah came early for us this year when he said yes!”

‘The Flash’ Recap: ‘The Man in the Yellow Suit’ http://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2014/12/the-flash-the-man-in-the-yellow-suit.html The Flash: Who Is "The Man in the Yellow Suit"? https://tv.yahoo.com/news/flash-man-yellow-suit-131200945.html
Secrets that may involve time travel or at least knowledge of the future, and that are worth killing over. This week, we discovered that those secrets also involve a lightning-bolt ring that should be familiar to fans of The Flash and a yellow suit. Yes, that yellow suit.Who is the Reverse-Flash? This has been the overarching question since The Flash premiered. The next question was the biggie: What the heck was Harrison Wells doing with the yellow suit? When the Reverse-Flash escaped STAR Labs, he beat the hell out of Wells. If Wells is the Reverse-Flash, how did he pull that off?The final question is the most telling: As the Reverse-Flash made his escape, he took down Barry, Joe, Harrison and assorted Central City cops, but he stopped short when confronted with Eddie Thawne. The Reverse-Flash was tearing through everyone like a hate-fueled hurricane, yet the sight of Thawne stayed his hand. Fans of the comics will understand why this prospect intrigues, but for the rest, we say … see you in the New Year.

First Teensy Look At Firestorm's Superhero Duds On The Flash http://io9.com/first-teensy-look-at-firestorms-superhero-duds-on-the-f-1670268432
Curious as to what the newest addition in DC's superheroic TV universe will be wearing in 2015? Here's the first (incredibly tiny) photo of Robbie Amell as Ronnie Raymond what will be his official Firestorm uniform. You'll note the symbols/lights on his chest, which match with Firestorm's current comic outfit exactly. Until I saw this picture, I hadn't realized I've never seen Firestorm in his uniform without his head being on fire. It's kind of weird, but I suppose I'd better get used to it — I'm guessing Robbie Amell's head is frequently going to be unlit, given the show's budget. Best save the flaming heads for when they really need them.At any rate, even in this tiny glimpse, it's a much better look than The Flammable Hobo we saw earlier this week in the mid-season finale.

The 6 best nerdy Easter eggs in ‘The Flash’ so far http://nypost.com/2014/12/12/the-6-best-nerdy-easter-eggs-in-the-flash-so-far/
The two big DC shows on TV this year — “The Flash” and “Gotham” — could be a lesson in the do’s and don’ts of how to turn comic books into shows.Fox’s “Gotham,” the origin-to-an-origin story, is ploddingly dull sometimes, featuring a landscape of baby villains without the one thing that makes the city anything interesting: Batman.Meanwhile, the CW’s “The Flash” is a winner because it feels, well, like an actual comic book. The writers don’t reach too far with the drama or try too hard to be clever. And they give audiences what they want, which is the Flash being a speedster hero, doing cool stuff like running around a derailing train in slow motion to save passengers, and fighting classic villains. The show, which had its midseason finale last week, shows a true appreciation for its DC Comics origins. And it has been packing in some nods to the first “Flash” TV show from 1990. Here are some of our favorite Easter eggs so far:
The Flash 1990's TV Show Titles.....I edited the Flash Opening Titles and Credits with the "slates" shown before the show starts, then before a commercial set, then the end Producer slate and end credits as it was shown on TV like that. Unlike some copies which show it from DVD but not the "slates".These were on the Episode "Out Of Control" shown on CBS TV on September 27, 1990.Which I think was the Second episode shown. Please this is a fan based clip to show the high end special effects used at that time, not an infringement on the show. With all the money spent on this show, it seems they couldn't get the End Credits done correctly. If you watch it the credit will appear for about 2 or 3 seconds and then just the background Flash slate for about 5 seconds, instead of having the persons credit shown for 5 seconds, you're lucky to read or see it at all (a flash?)
The credit should be on screen for 5 seconds between slates. They never caught that it went on like that each show?

The Flash Casts Spartacus Star Liam McIntyre as a Major Villain http://www.eonline.com/news/612222/the-flash-casts-spartacus-star-liam-mcintyre-as-a-major-villain
The Arrow and The Flash showrunners sure do love Spartacus alums! On Arrow, Nick Tarabay played Digger Harkness, aka Captain Boomerang, Cynthia Addai-Robinson currently plays A.R.G.U.S. leader Amanda Waller, Katrina Law plays Nyssa al Ghul, and Manu Bennett played (and will return as) the big bad Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke. And now, yet another Spartacus alum is joining in on the DC Comics fun, but this time, he's heading to Arrow's spinoff, The Flash!E! News has confirmed that Liam McIntyre has been cast as a major villain on The Flash, and he will first appear in episode 15. So who is he playing?Remember the first metahuman Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) met in the series premiere, Clyde Mardon (Chad Rook), aka the bank robber who had the ability to control weather? McIntyre will play his brother, Mark Mardon! Oh, but in-the-know fans probably know him by his other name: the Weather Wizard! Goosebumps, anyone?Mark will make his way back to Central City on a mission of brotherly revenge. He's seeking to get justice for his brother's untimely death. Mark uses his powers, similar to Clyde's ability to control the weather, to go on a rampage to find the man that shot Clyde...Joe West (Jesse L. Martin).Sounds like Barry's going to need to stock up on rain gear in order to save one of his three father figures!McIntyre is best known for taking over the late Andy Whitfield's titular role on Spartacus: War of the Damned. The Flash returns Tuesday, Jan. 20 at 8 p.m. on the CW.
