NCAA Football 2014 season

I'd take Ga Southern over SEC stalwarts Vanderbilt & Kentucky for 6 of 7 games.
Vandy, maybe. Kentucky, not 6 out of 7. If you really think so I would be interested in hearing why.
Ga Southern is 8-3 sure, but those three losses have come at the hands of teams from those power conferences (not navy), and Ga Tech aside, they were not playing the cream of the crop either. A loss to 6-5 NC state and a spanking by a 5-5 Navy team does not exactly scream, "ready for the big times".

Still, even beating a low tier SEC school has no bearing on who they would play in a playoff.

Hate to say it, but Ga Tech isn't the cream of the crop these days. We're still gonna run all over FSU though :D

And likely beat UGA, who has no run defense, as proven by Florida.

Hope so on the first and on the second....GO DAWGS! lol

You know.. this isn't professional football. Why have a playoff at all? Is it really fair to the players to play that many games? Its a miracle those lineman don't get injured more often and ruin their future careers especially with cheap shot illegal chop blocks (cough cough..at least 2 in the Bama game) We are asking these young men to play more just to satisfy some silly debate or some whiney a@@ fans. The last thing I want to see is paying the players.

The playoffs are in place for the same reason they are in the pros, its all about the benjamins, no more, no less. The same reason the NCAA basketball tourney was enlarged from 16 to 32 to 64 to 66 (to 68?) teams, the quality of teams was of no concern, just the gate revenues. (Take a look at the salaries paid to the NCAA staff and coaches and their staffs if you want to see why more $$$ is always needed.) :eeek

Why was the season increased from 10 games to 12, plus "conference playoffs?" See above.

Any one watching Texas and TCU ?
Both Defenses are playing great, but Texas Offense is terrible so far thru the 1st period.
TCU up 13-0
2 FG's and a Defensive TD off a fumble.

Well, after watching the 1st half, TCU up 20-3, I think for all intent and purposes, this game is over ....
Texas just doesn't have the offense to play catch up.

No help for the Bucks from Texas. :(

That game was over before it started. Its a good thing Mack was booted or UT would have looked so sad this year. Oh, that's right, they did. Now UT can go play in the Toliet Bowl or the Harmonica Bowl (Kentucky's fave back when they could win 6 in a season.)

The other game, LSU in their beatdown of TAMU was a much better game. The LSU freshman RB (Fournette) looked as good as advertised and the game was not nearly as the final score appears. Once LSU decided to quit messing around, the game was theirs to lose.

And they seemed to be on their way to doing that had they not been on the favorable side of one of the many terrible calls in that game. What's up with these SEC refs this season? Awful. I'll take the win though, no matter how sloppy, especially this season. :)

There were an awful lot of bad calls in the game, more than I would expect in a SEC game, but they seemed pretty even to me, both teams got the benefit of some bad ones, some went the other way.

In Big10 games this season, the officiating, while horrible, has seemed to favor only one team in a contest (see tOSU 1st bounce completions, additions of 10 or more seconds to a play-clock that says "0", etc.) The ACC has seemed to be pretty even in calls as has the PAC12 and BIG12. (I abhor games that are "won" by the officials.)
