This week, while light on references to the DCU, finally marked the end of the Arrow resurrection mini-arc that followed the 'shocking' events of the midseason finale. Since the superhero series' return, one adversary has been doing a lot of damage in Oliver's absence, with Vinnie Jones' villain setting up shop in "Left Behind" and then running the law out of the Glades in "Midnight City." It's going to take an old-fashioned “Uprising” to root out this miniboss.As Leslie Knope once said, "when the Ann's away, the mice get perms" and without the Green Arrow in Starling, Danny 'Brick' Brickwell has gone full curls. That's what a perm does, right? Anyway, Brick has used intimidation and the goons he 'sprung' from Iron Heights to takeover the Glades, and the remaining members of Team Arrow are struggling to handle the situation without Oliver. There was a nice nod to The Flash with one of the thugs asking Arsenal if he was the 'The Red Streak,' only to be told he had the wrong City.

Oliver Queen has returned to a new Team Arrow.Having being “dead” for a month, Oliver resurfaced to help knock down Danny “Brick” Brickwell and save the Glades. Afterward, he found a moment to survey the new landscape (Laurel has gone full Canary!) and then he clashed with his No. 1 gal Felicity, who declared that she doesn’t want to be loved by a man who would ally with the likes of Malcolm Merlyn.With Season 3 of the CW hit continuing this Wednesday at 8/7c, TVLine invited showrunner Marc Guggenheim to tease the assorted changes — and at least one huge twist — ahead.

In last week’s “Arrow,” Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) returned to Starling City and walked into an all-out war between his team and a gang of thugs led by Danny Brickwell (Vinnie Jones). Now that the dust from Brick’s coup has settled and the residents of the Glades are safe, Oliver must acclimate to the new team dynamic that has formed in his absence.“It’s rocky immediately,” Amell recently told Variety. “It’s like ‘okay, I’m back, let’s get back to it,’ and everyone’s like ‘no.’ Because all of them, [while] I’m gone, have to decide if they’re doing this because it was for me or if they’re doing this for them. They all independently make the decision that they are there because they want to be there. So me coming back and just being dictatorial and ‘my way or the highway’ is just not going to work. I can stomp my feet and yell and pout and cry and they’re just going to be like, ‘Listen, man, this is not just your thing anymore.’ So I’ll either have to accept it or I’ll have to just start working on my own.”

Deathstroke is easily a fan-favorite villain in season 2 of Arrow, and now fans should be excited to see his return in the next episode. In “The Return,” Oliver and Thea Queen embark on a journey into the island that Oliver was stranded at for all those many years. In that island, they meet a familiar face. I’ve been enjoying the show so far, but one of my gripes is that anyone can be an expert at close-quarters combat with just months of training. For example, am I to believe that Thea will be able to go one-on-one with Deathstroke? Well, even if she was trained by Malcolm, I still find it hard to believe. The Arrow crew are heading into the home stretch of season 3 and Ollie and the others will be preparing for the inevitable showdown between Starling City’s heroes and the League of Assassins.But will Ollie, Roy, Felicity, Diggle and Laurel be enough to take down Ra’s al Ghul?Probably not, which is why Ollie has asked for Malcolm’s help and bringing Thea into the fold. Starling City is finally getting a villainous metahuman of its very own.Doug Jones, whose TV credits include roles in Falling Skies and Teen Wolf, has been cast as Jake Simmons (aka Deathbolt), marking the first instance of a super-powered character — aside from Barry Allen, of course — in Oliver Queen’s hometown.Deathbolt, a villain with the power to manipulate lightning, will first appear in Episode 19 of Season 3.

[Warning: Spoilers ahead for Wednesday's episode, of Arrow, "Nanda Parbat."]Oliver has received the offer of a lifetime.Ra's al Ghul (Matt Nable) asked Oliver (Stephen Amell) to take over his title and lead the League of Assassins on Tuesday's Arrow, after capturing him and Diggle (David Ramsey).The move gives a strong nod to Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins, in which Ra's was initially played by Ken Watanabe, who was actually a decoy. He was revealed to actually be Liam Neeson by the end of the movie, with Neeson giving a nod to the idea that the title of Ra's might be passed from one person to the other, and this how he achieves his immortality. In the comics, Ra's cheats death thanks to regular baths in the restorative waters of the Lazarus Pits.

This past Thursday, it was announced that The CW is in early development on a superhero team-up project spinning out of Arrow and The Flash. The characters announced so far include Captain Cold, The Atom and Martin Stein (one-half of Firestorm), and actress Caity Lotz will also be included, though it’s unclear who exactly she’s playing. With the potential to go straight-to-series and featuring fan-favorites from both Arrow and The Flash, this project would definitely be a game-changer for the DC TV universe that The CW has built over the past three years. But wait, there’s more!One of the more interesting tidbits of information was that the show will also feature three DC superheroes that have never been in a TV series before. With DC vast library of characters, this doesn’t narrow down the possibilities by a lot, but it does have us wondering who might be introduced to this DC TV universe. We finally got a good look at Brandon Routh's high-tech Atom suit in Arrow's "Nanda Parbat" - an episode which also saw Oliver facing an intriguing proposition from Ra's al Ghul, as well as Ray and Felicity's relationship being...taken up a notch.IGN was able to speak with the Atom himself, Brandon Routh, to get his thoughts on the suit, where Ray Palmer fits into the city, and what it might be like to have the Atom and Superman in a scene together.
