12 Monkeys on SyFy

Interesting episode... Any bets on Cole being pulled back by the machine just in time?

Now it would be an interesting take if the timeline was altered and he starts over again because the plague was released differently, he could come back and see Cassandra, and she would know him but he would not know her... She says we had a lot of crazy adventures and you were fire bombed last week... No, I have never met you before...

It would seem that they burned up the virus in Cheneya and there is no reason for the show to even continue ,but you know something will happen. Most likely that Cole doesn't go back the second time to destroy the virus or that the virus continues to come out in a different area and he goes there instead. Either way you know the show is going on so it will change the out come and I know that Cole isn't going anywhere. Be interested to see what they come up with next week.

It seems likely that either he actually survived or they figure out a way to pull him out from a different place in the timeline.

Looks like I was right in one aspect. It will be interesting to see how they merge the timelines back together. Still really liking this show, I almost never watch a show the night it is broadcast.

After watching this week's episode I think their best course of action is to, once they get a new core in 2043, send Cole back far enough to stop Percy. Now that he's finally made an appearance, it's obvious Percy is behind the whole plague in the first place. Amanda probably designed the virus in order to cover up some botched Division assassination attempt in the Middle East. Ryan Fletcher can use his government connections to figure out exactly where and when it happened and then let Birkhoff, er um, I mean Cole, know so he can jump there. Unless I'm missing something. :D

But, but, but then the show would be over...

I have a feeling it is going to be a lot of conspiracies over other conspiracies that will have to be unraveled before we can finally stop the plague.

As much as I enjoy this show, one of my biggest concerns is that they keep moving goalposts every time it looks like Cole stopped the plague at its source. That gets old after a while. This show may have been better as a single season "mini-series" like Fargo. But who knows? Maybe, assuming it gets renewed, they'll come up with a creative way to take it in another direction (like you said, conspiracies over other conspiracies). And we still haven't seen Roan, Owen, Ari, Sonya, and a few other second and third tier characters from its primary casting source.

The only way I really see around it is if Cole spends more episode time per trip. Essentially instead of a trip into the past lasting one episode before they have to go somewhere else, they have to make a single trip back last several episodes.

So Cole splinters to 2017. So what ever he did in 2015 didn't stop the virus ,just one place where it could spread: Cheneya. So now we have to see how it spread in the next episode.
