Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy 15 Second Trailer Teaser

Guardians of the Galaxy eased 41 percent to an estimated $10.2 million. This is the movie's fourth weekend in first place; the only other movies to accomplish such a feat in the past decade are The Dark Knight, Avatar and The Hunger Games.

On Saturday, Guardians passed last Summer's Man of Steel, which is noteworthy given the discrepancy in pre-existing fanbases for these two superhero movies. With $294.6 million, Guardians is now the highest-grossing movie ever from the month of August (ahead of The Sixth Sense), and it's on track to ultimately pass the original Iron Man's $318 million total.

‘Guardians Of The Galaxy 2’ News: Vin Diesel Reveals More Than ‘I Am Groot,’ The ‘Galaxy’ To Expand http://www.inquisitr.com/1740678/gu...oot-the-galaxy-to-expand/#7xhocq3kpVHyCtO2.99
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 news is beginning to be revealed little by little, with the latest update being from “Groot” himself. Vin Diesel was given the opportunity to tell us what it was he liked about director James Gunn, and revealed a few things about the first movie we may not have known. While some fans criticized Groot for his repetitive dialogue, Vin Diesel revealed that the phrase “I am Groot” is more open to interpretation and doesn’t always mean the same thing every time. During one exchange in the first GotG, he and Rocket (Bradley Cooper) were seen arguing about helping Quill (Chris Pratt) and Gamora (Zoe Saldana). In spite of the tree-like character only saying the one phrase, we clearly heard Rocket respond to what Groot actually meant.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2? Has Fewer Characters, One New http://screenrant.com/guardians-of-the-galaxy-2-characters-stories/
For all of its success at the box office around the world ($1.3 billion and counting), Avengers: Age of Ultron couldn’t escape criticisms for overloading on characters and lacking some focus as it attempted to setup many facets of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Making this massive ensemble epic was a grueling experience for writer and director Joss Whedon, so much so that he couldn’t hide his issues over creative control with Marvel HQ while promoting the film – something that made it clear why he’s already said he wouldn’t be back to direct Avengers 3 & 4.For Marvel’s other team-up brand getting a sequel, the situation couldn’t be more different. Writer and director James Gunn just finished the first draft of the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 script and after having a “blast” making the first film, he couldn’t be more excited about his story and plans for the followup. Why is his situation so different?

Who Josh Brolin Is Most Excited For Thanos To Face Off In Infinity War http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Who-Josh-Brolin-Most-Excited-Thanos-Face-Off-Infinity-War-79917.html
The Mad Titan Thanos has faced off against numerous heavy-hitters of the Marvel Universe since his first appearance in 1973. With Josh Brolin primed and ready to take on the entire heroic roster of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Avengers: Infinity War, just which hero is he most excited to take on?Brolin recently spoke to MTV News about his impending battle with Earth’s mightiest heroes as well as the villain’s egalitarian tendency towards their destruction,I don’t have a favorite because it’s me against all of them… I think the entirety is what I’m most looking forward to. Each and every one. I’m bringing the wrath. Now if those words aren’t enough to get any comic book fan excited about what Marvel’s Phase 3 has to offer, then I sincerely don’t know what will. The answer also provides of scale with regards to the threat that Thanos alone presents; while Loki is most certainly a great villain, his army did most of the heavy lifting to present a threat in The Avengers, and James Spader’s Ultron in Avengers: Age of Ultron fell somewhat flat in the eyes of many fans. Thanos’ "wrath" promises one of the most bloody, visceral, and all around epic battles we have see in an Avengers film yet. Given the ensemble nature of The Avengers films – as well as the scope of the threat presented by Thanos – it’s a safe bet that each and every Avenger will get their own shot at The Mad Titan.

'Guardians of the Galaxy 2' director shuts down those cameo rumors...ALL of them https://www.yahoo.com/tv/s/guardians-galaxy-2-director-shuts-161100599.html
“Guardians of the Galaxy 2” isn’t set for release until May 5, 2017 but as summer blockbuster production moves at a glacial pace, writer/director James Gunn is already up to his eyeballs in it. To celebrate his completion of the sequel’s second draft, Gunn took to Twitter to answer fan questions.Between the film genre he’d like to make (Western) and the character he’d most like to add to the MCU canon (Bat-Mite), Gunn took a minute to dash the hopes of fans everywhere when he went on record to say that cameo wasn’t happening. ‘Which cameo?’ you may ask.

There's a huge Easter egg in 'Guardians of the Galaxy' no one has found yet http://www.businessinsider.com/guardians-of-the-galaxy-easter-egg-no-one-has-found-yet-2015-9
While many can't wait for the next "Guardians of the Galaxy" film director James Gunn says there are still plenty of reasons to head back and scour through the first film.Gunn, who is very open about sharing updates on his current projects online, told fans over the weekend that he has yet to see anyone who has found the biggest Easter egg in “Guardians of the Galaxy.”The director made the comment while responding to a fan who asked Gunn whether all of the eggs have been found.

Everyone's Missing One Huge Thing In 'Guardians Of The Galaxy'.....But James Gunn won't say what..... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry...e82e4b08820d9171d86?ncid=txtlnkusaolp00000592
We all thought the big question from "Guardians of the Galaxy" was who Star-Lord's dad was. But now there's an even bigger mystery: What the hell is James Gunn talking about?"Guardians" director James Gunn started a World Wide Web frenzy by revealing on Facebook that there's one big Easter egg in "Guardians of the Galaxy" that "no one has found," adding, "Maybe once someone came close."Then the guesses started coming in.Someone thought the astronaut in the Collector's Museum was George Clooney's character in "Gravity," while someone else guessed whether it was a Spider-Man appearance, but so far, no one's gotten it.

Guardians 2 Bringing Back This Key Side Character http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Guardians-2-Bringing-Back-Key-Side-Character-83557.html
In addition to the main players from Guardians of the Galaxy (Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Groot, and Rocket) returning for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, several key supporting players will also be coming back, like Nebula and Yondu. Now there’s another important character that will be returning for another round of intergalactic shenanigans. Don’t lie, you know you’ve been waiting to hear about whether this guy would be popping his head in or not. Well, it’s official: Kraglin is returning. C’mon, you know who I’m talking about! After his brother, director James Gunn, teased it several months back, Sean Gunn recently appeared on The Nerdist to announce that he will reprise his role as Yondu’s second-in-command in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. As he put it:

Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 Will Bring Back The Film's Most Eccentric Character http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Guar...Back-Film-Most-Eccentric-Character-87037.html
Aside from the five core characters, it’s difficult to gauge who will be back for Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2. James Gunn said that we haven’t seen the last of Nebula (Karen Gillan), but what about Thanos (Josh Brolin), Yondu (Michael Rooker), or even Howard the Duck? As we inch closer to the start of production, it seems as though one major character will be joining the intergalactic band of superhero misfits once again: The Collector. If Zoe Saldana can be believed, then Benicio Del Toro will return for the Marvel sequel. The actress who plays the deadliest assassin in the galaxy, Gamora, posted a video to Facebook with her husband Marco. If you speak Spanish, then you’ll be able to watch the video no problem. For the rest of us, Saldana is praising Sicario and Del Toro’s performance in the film. She ends the video by exclaiming, "I’ll see you on Guardians." Watch the video below.

Thor: Ragnarok May Introduce Marvel’s Latest Female Superhero https://www.yahoo.com/movies/s/thor-ragnarok-may-introduce-marvel-134400899.html
We're less than two years out from Thor: Ragnarok, which on Marvel time means we're starting to get the first rumors of what the movie's actually about. (Besides Ragnarok, obviously.) Devin Faraci at Birth.Movies.Death. reports that the film will take the form of "a cosmic road trip" with Thor and the Hulk, which may explain the latter's absence from Civil War. Despite that comic-sounding premise and the choice of Flight of the Conchords' Taika Waititi as director, Faraci's sources say the script is "so serious, so dark," though every successive Marvel movie has been pitched as darker than the last, so as always, who knows?

Thor 3 Details: Hulk, Valkyrie, and a Story That’s Too Dark http://screenrant.com/thor-3-story-details-valkyrie-hulk/
Marvel Studios may have found its Thor: Ragnarok helmer in actor-director Taika Waititi as we reported earlier this month but now we’re learning why Marvel is seeking someone with comedy chops to helm the third Thor adventure. As it turns out, Thor: Ragnarok’s script is too dark. Both Thor and Thor: The Dark World are some of the lightest and comedic films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and given the weaknesses of the story and villain of the sequel, a change in direction and tone is something the next movie – about the “end of all things” no less – really could use. But not so for Marvel Studios’ revamped leadership.Earlier today we reported the rumor that Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner a.k.a. Hulk would be returning in Phase 3 before the next Avengers movie, and that it could be in Thor 3. Confirming that news with their own source, BMD reports that this is indeed the case. They also add that the Thor: Ragnarok screenplay by Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle is too dark, hence why Waititi was brought in to direct and tweak the picture. Another writer may join the creative team too to lighten it up to fit the Marvel formula.
