Didn't see this posted. Looks like ESPN Game Plan and ESPN Full Court were combined and are now called ESPN College Extra and DirecTV will be carrying it, and it's in HD

I was channel surfing last night and the channels on my TWC line up that were designated for GP and FC used to carry an ESPN Radio simulcast in the off season. Now they are just a slate with the College Extra logo. I Googled it and it looks like the news came out last month.

Interesting. I ordered the sports pack this evening and was told what used to be Gameplan would be rolled into the sports pack.

Looks like it will be, from this page, http://www.directv.com/sports/sports_pack

  • College sports fans, look no further.
No matter the season, tune in (Ch. 615) to get your college sports fix. ESPN Bases Loaded presents the ultimate NCAA Baseball Championship viewing experience, ESPN Buzzer Beater lets you watch 360 coverage of men’s and women’s college basketball, and the ESPN Goal Line channel brings you college football drama from every conference. If that’s not enough NCAA excitement, DIRECTV immerses you in up to eight out-of-market college football games a week (Chs. 788–798).

I tailgate at nc state....sometimes if I'm in a hurry I'll lock in on one or the other depending on what games I want to watch.

Here is the Press Release from ESPN: http://espnmediazone.com/us/press-r...ew-college-sports-service-espn-college-extra/
"Available to AT&T U-verse and DIRECTV, Bright House Networks, Cox, Time Warner Cable, Verizon FiOS and Select NCTC Members’ Customers at Launch.

ESPN today announced the launch of ESPN College Extra, a new college sports service that will bring hundreds of ESPN3 exclusive live college sports events to the TV."

It also has an initial schedule of games that will air on 9/5. It's worth noting there is no specific mention of it being HD in the PR (which might just be due to some of the other providers not choosing to carry them in HD)... Also, Blackout and regionalization restrictions will continue to apply across all platforms.

Will stuff that was local cable only (espn 3 feed on local cable channels for the few games that where on no other channel) & espn 3 be blacked out? Blackouts for stuff that are only on local channels.

Will Directv just open up RSN feeds and only trun on ESPN College Extra for the stuff that is only on it like how they do with Fox College Sports? Be forced to black out HD feeds and make people view in sd with some JIP (due to epsn's limited channel space like how game plan / full court used to be)

I was waiting for a reason to keep the Sports Pack on my bill, my sister only watches 1 channel, now I have a reason, I like that they will include it on the Sports Pack, I had Game Plan 1 yr, hated SD version, hopefully they will be HD.

Now pumped for next Saturday, opening weekend.
