Wow, there's quite a jumble of wires!
My switch setup is nice and neat and in an enclosure outside, but that kinda looks similar to the mess of wires behind my TV!

I've seen that exact situation numerous times. It all starts out with a nice clean layout. Something in the system goes bad. Someone starts troubleshooting. Components get swapped out, rerouted, recabled, reconfigured - AND THEN - all of a sudden - everything is working! By this time, the troubleshooter is so frazzled he/she just leaves things the way they are because THE SYSTEM IS WORKING!
Fred all that neatness, but those look like crimp connectors instead of compression. Please tell me I am wrong. If not we will get a Christmas fund going for you for a compression tool and some connectors!
Crimp works just fine for me.
Up to a couple of hundred feet of coax per run and its working great.
But if you want to end me a compression tool and 500 ends, I wont refuse.
Agree with Comptech. Great neat work, just to cheap out on the connectors!
Crimping causes impedance issues and frequency roll-off. They have not approved by subscription cable or satellite companies for many years or recommended for these frequencies.

The word is frugal. Diana Prince (Wonder Woman) is looking plenty fine right now on MeTV, crimp connectors and all!
Still looks REALLY nice. I wish my routing was that tidy. I have used compression for so long though, I've forgotten how to crimp properly, and I don't even think I have any crimpers that I know where they are anymore.
I was never really looking at her neck, did not notice.

You guys would have a heart attack if you saw my systems cuz I just use those "screw on" type connectors with petroleum jelly packed inside to make them waterproof.

Up until about 15 years ago, all I ever used were the screw on connectors too, until I "stepped up" to the crimp type.
Used them for cable TV, DBS, OTA and now FTA. All my connectors, like the ones in the switch box are covered, I just put dielectric grease inside. Out at the dishes, Dr Pepper bottles for C band, and rubber boots for Ku handle moisture control with grease there too.
It was a little painful at first to spend $10 - 15 for the crimp tool, but I got over it. Been using crimp for a while and its just what I am used to now. There are just so many brands of compression and so many different tools. And the tools aren't cheap. You buy one tool and set of ends, then the one brand of ends are no longer available, then you have to buy another tool to go with the only brand of ends you can find, It can add up quick.
If I was a professional installer then I probably would use compression. Hell I don't even own a 1080 TV. CRT looks good to me. Just not one to change something that's been working good all these years, whether it be connectors or tried and true CRT TVs. If I was like that It seems like I would be throwing out TVs every year when new models came out. Did buy some 740? Tvs when I moved to a bigger house, but that was only because they phased out CRTs and you coudn't but them any more. Wife watches TV on a flat screen, but its a tube that I prefer.
Now back to Wonder Woman, My sister used to work at a Vet's office in the Maryland Suburbs. Lynda Carter used to bring her pet there and my sister would check them in. Said she was one of the nicest people she had ever met.
I don't think her neck looks goofy here, Well it does seem a little long now that you mention it navychop.
