Bout time for a new AVR that is 4K ready. Wasn't going to get one, but since the H3 will potentially have UHD as well, better to have everything running into the AVR via HDMI.

Best I can tell, they both have XT32 with dual sub EQ. Power ratings don't matter because it's a preamp in my system, and I think the only difference is the Denon has 32bit DAC's were the Marantz are 24bit. I think the Marantz looks better.

Got the 4200 hooked up, and if you have used a Denon with XT32 in the last X years, you know about all you need to lol.

This was posted at AVS today

"The HDMI 2.0a(HDR) firmware update is being released with the DTS:X update.

X7200WA - Jan 28
X4200W/X6200W - Feb 18
X3200W (and lower models) - TBD (spring)"

I have played 1080p and 2160p blu-ray without issue testing the player with spears and munsil and deep color. I do not have UHD discs yet to try HDR.

So far the OLED owners seem real happy with the player and UHD discs, I think Samsung owners are having some problems.

From a fellow 9500 owner, who owns a X6200W:

Mine took about 15mins total from download to install. Went flawless. I then popped in The Martian on UHD and applied NeuralX. Sounded good with just my front height speakers.

Also ran my UHD Player through my receiver then to my TV. HDR worked fine.

Just FYI folks. This k8500 works like a dream through the Denon x4200. Received the DTS-X and HDR update this morning. Clears up any video or sound issues. My Denon is seeing 4k:24 hz, 10bit, bt.2020, ycbcr for video.

My mic keeps setting my speakers to 69db, at reference volume. Have verified with two different SPL meters so I contacted Denon via chat. Looks like they are gonna ship me a new mic for free which is pretty cool.

I can level match afterward, but I am unable to verify if it is reading anything else wrong in the freq respsonse correction, so best to get a new one.
