A week ago we had our power blink on and off several times over a 30 minute span.

Now, our Olevia 537 B12 has the screen go off after using it. Sometimes 15 minutes, sometimes it last an hour.

We then turn off the tv and turn it back on and it lasts for another 10 minutes or so until it goes off.

I have read a lot online about power supply boards, inverter boards, etc.

Before I shell out $100 for a board, can anyone shed some light on this?

Too much money. It is $100 just to look at it + $100 labor.

I have read numerous places that a new inverter board or power board will fix it, I just do not know which yet.

I would think that since the picture and sound goes, but the power is still on, it might be the inverter board.

I have no idea. I have replaced boards before with good results. I ONLY buy them If I get a deal enough to offset taking it to what a shop would charge though.

Good luck

OK, thanks for the help

Does my problem sound more like a power board problem or inverter board?

Reflash the tv's firmware using your pc. It's real easy. You'll need a USB A to B type cable, like the ones used between a pc and a USB printer. Mine has this version of the firmware: 537_B11_061218A. Since you have a B12, you probably need a different version. My Olevia 537H B11 only has a single HDMI connector, and I think the B12 model has 2...

I had the same problem with my Olevia 537H earlier this last year, due to an on/off on/off 6 times fast power problem, and the firmware reflash fixed it. Actually, mine was completely brain-dead, and wouldn't even power up. The reflash fixed it! See this for info, and the firmware you need:

Looks like you may also be able to get the firmware here, but you have to register first: http://www.olevia.com.hk/lg.php

This info is what I need. I have two Olevia LCD TVs that went dead on me recently. Won't power ON. I never got the chance to check the problem

Thanks for posting about the F/W upgrade. I will give it a try.

Do you have any lights on the front stand buy or power if not most likely the power board but as you`ve said the cheapest on Ebay I can find are $60+but if you know any thing about soldering you could pull the board and look for a cold solder you`ll need a magnified lite to check it with and what your looking for are dull looking solder joints which may appear to have a little crack around the pin of what ever is soldered there the main power on your model is the small one to the left as you are looking at it with the back of but if you have power or standbuy lights under the heat shield of the board you connect you antenna and other video stuff a section that has two long radial capacitors look at the top of them and see if they have a slight bulge and while your at it look them all over any that seem to have that problem should be replaced
