Would that MCU be the larger one of the 3 chips on that board? Just asking......................:oldwink

I'm getting to be good at this soldering stuff and that's especially dangerous since I have a bunch of free time on my hands! :idea

Yes, that would be the one. That one should have 28 pins. Now I assume you see that as your next challenge. :D

Hummmm.................that had crossed my mind, but, that one has all the instructions and such to make it all work, correct? No chance of buying one either I suppose? I do have a couple I know are good though :imshocked and I did do that with the LCD display to find out if that was the problem.

Like I said.......................Hummm

Yep, that chip is flashed with the programming on it to run the show. No, you will not be able to just order a flashed chip. You can order plenty of blanks, but that would do you no good. :)
If you do have a donor though, then yes you can swap it out.

Well, I've got 3 working systems and now have 3 working spares so I'm thinking I might just quit while I'm ahead. I made up wiring disconnects for all 3 systems and I now DISCONNECT EVERYTHING EVERY NIGHT, OR WHEN A STORM IS NEAR, hopefully I won't have a problem with lightning killing them again unless there's a direct hit on the house. That leaves only normal wear and maybe that's something that will be easier to deal with.

Need some help also with Vbox with problem of my M2 not working. M1 is ok dish only moves west unless I switch wires then will move east. Here is pic of my board. What might I do to fix. Thanks DSCF0377.JPG

That chip is what I found wrong with most of them I fixed. There was a diode bad on one though. Hopefully that chip will work for you as well.

Funny, that board you have doesn't look anything like either the Vbox 7 or Vbox X controllers I have here?? Hummm.....................

Edit: That looks like the board that's in a Motek Vbox II

Your right it is a Motek. Should get chips tomorrow from KE4ST. I order a couple of relays also. Will let know. Didn't mean to hijack you but figure you would not care since it's basically the same. Thanks

No hijack here IMHO cuz it's on topic, ie, fixing the Vbox controllers and not limited to just me!! Like KE4ST, I enjoy helping ppl learn to do things for themselves and these type threads do just that. GOOD LUCK!!
