Any Svengoolie fans?

I have been watching Svengoolie on MeTV and am really enjoying the show. I don't have a large dish, but can get it with my tv antenna some of the time. Anyone else a Svengoolie fan?
Yep, we watch him after Star Trek. My son, 10 yrs old, loves him. Kind of brings back memories for my wife and I of watching our local horror host, Uncle Ted, on WNEP when he hosted the Ghoul School and later on WVIA where he hosted Monstermania. :)

It's a fun show to watch, even makes me tolerate, sometimes "appreciate" the hokey nature of the old classic movies. Neat to see a local show go national, and be able to do it with what appears to be a cast and staff that performs and works because they love it, but with very little budget! Back in the 70's as I grew up, TV in Detroit had "Sir Graves Ghastly" on TV2, (then, WJBK)...who went from late nights on the weekend to weekend afternoons.

In the UP of Michigan, a corny, hokey show called "Count Zappula" was the Saturday night equivalent of today's Svengoolie.

For me, just "fun" TV again when I watch Svengoolie. I'm lucky. With MeTV flashing in and out on the C-band, I have a choice of (3) terrestrial OTA markets that all have Me-TV.

Sir Graves, I grew up watching him. Sad Saturday with all the baseball preemptions though at that time of the year.

I watch Svengoolie now, but it's not the same, not even close.

We have him on a local OTA channel, corny as heck but funny.

I liked the other show with the Wolfman, Bony Bob the wise cracking skeleton with the bulging eyes, and the other weird freakish guests. Forgot the name of that show.

My nephew (14 years old) LOVES this show! Their local Metv channel starts this show at 10:00 p.m. He gets to stay up late on Saturday to catch it. Tells me about it all the time.

Here's an oldie but goodie - any Zacherly fans out there? - he was the older lanky ghoul who lived in a cellar or some type of crypt with his "wife" who was a laundry basket but you never saw her. Used to refer to her as "my dear." He would have his moving image come up over the old horror films that he used to show, sort of like a double exposure.

I agree with the Elvira post. Bring her back!

Yep, silly as he is, I still watch on most Saturday nights. You can also catch him with a 1 or 2 hour delay on the alt ch, Me2 on 101w. I parked a 7.5 dish on it a week or two back, but I'm finding it isn't quite big enough to be reliable for me, even on the SD channel I get some freezes/pixeling. Works fine on the reg 10' dish though.
I suppose every market had a monster show back in the day, man those giant ants and scorpions used to scare me the worst, when i was little. And those space people turning people into skeletons with their ray guns! (Teenagers from Outer Space). HAhaha
