Timeless

Looking forward to trying this one out. NBC seems to be focusing on a big hit a year.

I think a lot of how this show does will depend on the competition. Monday's at 10 for sure will have big guns from the other networks as well as cable. The bean counters will be keeping an eye on the CGI budget and if the viewership is soso, poof... they could travel to Never Never Land... That said I'm still setting a timer for sure!;)

IF they do an episode about famous people , they will just insure that what ever happens , it will still happen the way it was intended, because of the ripple effect would change so many things down the line. That is the whole reason for the show to exist in the first place. Someone is changing famous events and they have to go back and fix them to occur like they did originally. In a way it is like a history lessons, with a sci fi twist.

In this day and age, does it really matter what day and time shows are on? Or is my opinion skewed because I'm on this board and know about DVRs, PrimeTime Anytime, streaming apps from the various program providers, etc.?

Regarding "Timeless" I will watch to see how well they deal with temporal matters. 40 years of Doctor Who means I've pretty much seen every plot complication dealing with Time. 50 years ago ABC had "Time Tunnel" which trapped two researchers in the past (and sometimes the future). So we'll see what they will come up with. I do like Goran Visnjic so I have high hopes.

Metv started showing that TIME TUNNEL show again on the "Red EYE Sci fi Saturdays". I have seen episode 1 -3 so far and I like it. I didn't get to see it the first time around when I was a little boy , so it is fun to watch James Darren ( Former Teen Heart throb) and Lee Merriweather(Former Miss America) play together on this show. I think this Timeless show will be even cooler with modern CGI techniques.

It doesn't matter to those of us that record everything we watch. It does seem to still matter to the bean counters paying for the shows.

It still matters because the ratings system is still not adequate as it relates to DVRd events and their timeshifted content. The ratings are still the only thing that matters when they are selling advertising.

I predict that this show will do well, get renewed for a second season, & then get moved to Grimm's Friday night time slot. What sounds like suicide on NBC's part actually makes sense, get a hit show that follows the Voice(until people get sick of watching the Voice), then move the show to another night, hoping its fans will follow, & claim that night in ratings. Potentially dominate all nights(Sunday-Friday) instead of just Monday night. It looks like NBC has abandoned sitcoms.

While I enjoyed the premise of the show nothing really stood out about it either. Non of the characters are particularly strong acting wise. I agree this could be the replacement for Grimm's time slot.
