I am seeing strange stuff here. Regular is hovering around $2.25 which is OK. However, most regions seem to have a $.10 - $.15 spread between grades. Around here it is $.30, so $2.25, 2.55, 2.75.

Worse, the BP stations are now putting a $.60 jump between mid and premium, so $2.25, 2.55, 3.15. That is a ninety cents penalty for any sort of performance vehicle. Fortunately, I recently sold the Acura RSX-S, so everything now takes regular.

In my part of south central NC. regular is generally in the mid two teens. Some retailers are in the $2.07 to $2.09 range.
In nearby South Carolina, gas is roughly 15 cents lower.
On Tuesday, in Fort Mill, SC on the border with NC, I paid $1.95.9 Minus 5 cents due to Shell Fuel Rewards..

The main distributor in the part of the state, Brewers ... always first to raise and last to lower prices.
Ahh..Yes, the guy 50 years ago started an oil company with $100 and a handshake. He is the guy that bought up so called pricing zones so that there could never be another distributor that could sell gasoline. Such a person bought at the time when the population was thin and the zones were rural areas.
