I think we should rename the series NCIS to " As the Stomach Turns", because this show has become a big sappy , soap opera. Not even a good one at that. Maybe Mark Harmon is really losing his testosterone as he ages and is really feeling these crying , estrogen fueled soap plots. I really miss Tony and Ziva. The show hasn't been the same since they left.
The show started down that hill when Ziva left.
Tony couldn't save them by himself.
Had Tony stayed and Bishop removed for say Boeran or one of Tony's other ones that he worked really well with, they would be better off.

That said, not impressed with what Tony's doing now either .... wonder if he can come back once that show is cancelled.

Like most long running shows, it is living on loyal viewers built up earlier. If the show had launched with the current characters, it would have never made it.

However the show will last as long as MH want to work. My guess is about 3 more seasons.

After this episode why is Torres still on the show? So far we have reasons to terminate Bishop and Torres but both seem to be keeping their jobs. (corruption in Gov"t)
NCIS NOLA Percy seems to be in the same position.

I can see these type of ethical dilemmas happening any time you deal with law enforcement . I worked corrections at the state of Texas for over 17 and a half years . You are enudated with small to sometimes large ethical things every day , all day long. You have to balance out the administrative directives and the public policies against the rules for the day rooms, rec yards , security checks ,etc. And that isn't even talking about direct orders given to you by rank and wardens that openly conflict with the same rules and regulations you are supposed to work under. I got to where I had to threaten to write up my supervisors if they continued to give me illegal orders. I wrote several of them up ,including an asst. warden for these very violations. They would try to write me up for insubordination for not following their orders , which often put not only the inmates in danger , but me and the other c.o.s too. All in order to get stuff done faster . I won all my grievances over these illegal orders and I always would specify I did not want to receive any retaliation from the supervisors for me writing them up. This set a paper trail that I could then use against that supervisor for retaliating against me in the future, which is also an offense they could receive more disciplinary for.

In the end I left early and retired because an unscrupulous warden was trying to blame as many cos as he could for an escape he had on his watch. I was on a 12 day vacation and not even there but I worked the back gate position , so he took me off that job when I came back to work. I decided I had enough of the fighting to stay in this job that was literally causing me ulcers, so I bought my 2 years of service credit and retired two years early. Best thing I have ever done. No more ethical dilemmas.

Well NCIS is renewed for season 15 ,but the article I read said that this years scripts has caused their ratings to drop. No crap! Since Tony and Ziva left and Mousey Bishop took her place these show has gone down hill. Predictions say that Gibbs will be promoted to Director next season ,which will leave his team leader job open for someone new. After 15 , I bet that the show will end, unless they get back some excitement in the writing and get rid of BISHOP, PLEASE!:laser

What I read into that is the producers are trying to do what they wanted to do with JAG, which was to promote the main stars (who were growing too old for the roles and had enough $$ to not want to work hard anymore) and refresh the show with younger (and cheaper) actors. CBS passed on that, and Fox passed on a similar effort with the X-Files, but neither of those shows was every a blockbuster (JAG was a solid but unspactacular show, peaking at #15 and down to #60 when cancelled).

So, probably:

Vance gets elected Senator, allowing more political themes (and more political preaching, which would please CBS).

Gibbs goes over to the director role, allowing him to continue to appear (and perhaps appear in the two spin-offs which could use the boost) without working nearly as hard as he has more money than he can ever spend.

Probably Quinn gets the team leader job, note that the character was specifically written as older and more experienced that McGee, which can lead to a resentment and anst theme relative to him.

Probably Mallard is aged out, replaced with Palmer.

The Reeves character leads to more spy based themes, McGee returns to his computer geek role and the Torres character takes over from Gibbs as the male model action figure.

David turns 84 in September, so he might be ending this year. I thought he was going to leave a few years ago when they did the heart attack.

I still like Oxygen offering 10 episodes starting in the morning then repeating those same 10 episodes afternoon and evening. They are much better than the new episodes. I don't think I am going to watch too much longer. NCIS LA is using Admiral Chedwiggen so there goes your concept of being too old. I just can't see Gibbs as the director.

I think Ziva was B.B.
Yes, Ziva was before Bishop and a star at that, the show was very good with the females they had before Bishop.
Ziva, Kate .... Director Shepard
Took a long time for me to accept Director Vance, for a long time I didn't know if he was for or against his team.
