Here and Now
You knew it was coming ...

"Viacom announced today that they’re working on a $20 a month skinny bundle that should be released some time in 2017. The offering would likely be made up of the company’s networks like Comedy Central, MTV, VH1, BET, Nickelodeon and TV Land, plus a few more networks from outside the family. News or live sports networks, which are often some of the most expensive to carry, likely wouldn’t be present."

I have little use for any of the Viacom channels. While they all used to be valuable in their own way, they certainly aren't anymore.

They've pretty much all lost sight of their namesake purpose and where they haven't, they've played said content to death. How many hundreds of times can Logo play The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert?

Interesting idea, but like others who have posted, I have little interest in Viacom channels. A skinny bundle of major cable channels except Sports & News channels would be nice for many, but Disney and Fox are not likely to offer any of their channels without ESPN and Fox News/Fox sports.

Personally, I like some of the Viacom channels. I enjoy them, I'm 39 y.o., so I'm pretty set in my viewing habits. Wouldn't subscribe to a Viacom service without the major channels. That being said, I have Sling TV Blue pack with most add ons, but I decided to drop the Orange because of the ESPN and Disney services. I hardly ever watched them. I use MLB.tv for my sports, along with OTA for college football. I refuse to pay for football on stations like the SEC Network, ESPN, etc. But will for FOX Sports South/Southeast for Braves baseball. Also FS1 for occasional viewing. But, FS2 shows mostly UFC MMA fighting reruns. So I guess it comes down to taste

You know, there's like 635 episodes of "Gunsmoke", and Tvland has only showed the same 90~ episodes over and over for about 10 years now.

Well, if they add channels, that'll add appeal, for certain. $20 though? You can get ESPN and a good slate of channels for $20 with Sling already.
