Hi:
I am near NYC trying to receive WPIX digital on VHF channel 12. This is the only digital channel in my area that is broadcast on VHF. I have a large directional antenna with pre-amp on a rotor and when I tune it in with VOOM the maximum signal quality I can get for channel 12 is 40 (they broadcast a very weak signal) but then the signal occasionally cuts out and the signal quality drops to 20. I think part of the problem may be wind causing the VHF antenna vanes to wobble. My question is, since I only need to receive one VHF station, can I make a piece of aluminum or copper of a certain length that will act as an antenna for only VHF channel 12? and which VHF antenna vane is the one for channel 12? the shortest or the longest?
Thanks,
Joseph
