Warner, Fox, Disney to Launch Streaming Sports Joint Venture

Hulu is profitable, but no growth upside, since the vast majority of content on there is licensed for the United States only. Some in Canada also.

Warner, Fox, Disney to Launch Streaming Sports Joint Venture

I'm in the minority, I think, but I kinda like the name. For once, the name actually tells me what the service is. I would have also liked Hulu Sports, but I don't think the others want to inflate the value of a Disney-owned brand name. I also wonder how long Hulu is for this world.

Disney Is ‘Pretty Dramatically’ Reducing Spending on Traditional TV Content

I feel like we're so close to this already. Cable/sat are getting first run shows, but only so they can immediately be put on streaming 24 hours later. Almost everyone's in the DVR crowd now, so whereas you used to DVR something to watch on the weekends, it'll be on streaming pretty immediately...

Absent big-named American talent, what are the big costs of a show such as this?

DIRECTV Transponder Map ~ Data 5/15/2024

satellite. hence why airplane movements disrupt the signal (often). I think Southwest does something different, as they deliver live tv over personal device via wifi and their app. I am actually not sure how they do it.

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

Right. And in the interim the banks interest is ensuring Dish doesn't play a shell game with assets to devalue their investment or diminish the plummeting value of what collateral they have left. “Through a brazen series of related transactions,” billions of dollars of assets were transferred...

    House of the Dragon

Economics are playing hell with all TV productions, especially Cable/Network Shows. With advertising so down, cord cutting ( loss of per sub fees) and yet, the cost to produce a show is still going up, have to cut back on something, episodes is one of those options. A lot of returning shows ...

    Two Hopper 3 DVRs Installation

Yup. Been there done that many times over the past 29 years. Since not having it, I have found better and cheaper ways to get what little programming in need from it. Just wondering how far down I can strip down all the gear on my chimney. The 129 J-Arm grew an Outdoor Long Range AP. I already...

    Its TEAM SUMMIT week!

I am glad I am not paying my reporter... he says they announced nothing for DISH. I asked him why they showed the Hopper Plus on the screen and he said he didn't know. I hope to talk to him on the phone shortly as texting him is for the birds.

    New Install, new equipment?

I primarily watched the UHF stations back in the Ye olde days. Where all the horror/sci-fi stuff was on.

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

Banks collecting assets on this deal is like someone parachuting a Ferrari to an Afgan in the mountains. He would likely use it as a shed for his goats. Banks don't want hard assets, they want money.

More news about it- The Navy has awarded seven companies positions on a potential 10-year, $2.67 billion contract that covers the supply of commercial wireless devices and services for soldiers and civilian employees. Every incumbent and member of the U.S.' so-called "Big Three" wireless...

$2.7 Billion is the amount of money that has been allocated for the Spiral 4 program, which Echostar is part of, but so is T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T. Those three were part of Spiral 3 also. Their share of that program was AT&T is the largest recipient of that spend at $397 million, Verizon is...

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

Dog will write it off and move on like it's any other Thursday. (not a great analogy in the first place IMO) Doubt the banks are overly concerned here, just doing their due diligence. It's Dish trying to find a way to be viable going forward without a very clear path to doing so. The dog...

Warner, Fox, Disney to Launch Streaming Sports Joint Venture

The name is Venu (******* idiotic name) Sports. I know Fox is running the service, but Hulu Sports would have been better. https://cordcuttersnews.com/the-website-for-the-new-fox-disney-warner-bros-discovery-sports-streaming-is-owned-by-fox/

Strip it for parts and move on, continuing to do business as usual? The real question is what will happen to the car.

    New Install, new equipment?

I have no complaints about my Hopper+ I turn on my TV see what new episodes my Hopper recorded then open the appropriate app and watch the episodes. Yes that’s what I do, record my shows on satellite then stream them.
