As of yesterday, I am not seeing either Local on the 8s or interactive weather on either the HD or SD feeds of The Weather Channel (362).
Not sure if it was discontinued or some kind of limitation from TWC HD having been recently moved from D10 to D15.
Here's a question, if DRM is about sports, as the broadcasters say, then why not encrypt only during sporting events?
CBS already does that on C-band during NFL season. They encrypt during Sunday games, then go back FTA afterward.
Sadly I think under the current FCC leadership the broadcasters are going to get whatever they want. I do think the DRM and the total shutdown of ATSC 1.0 earlier than anticipated (if allowed) does present a safety issue. When Helene hit my area of SC cell phones didn't work because the towers...

This is all about the large pile of spy moles that was uncovered in 2021, isn't it?! There are no rules against genetically modifying moles to burrow under the opposition sideline and spy on them.
And don't give me any grief over the "controversy" of Belichick getting Stuxnet installed on...

It sucks to have to throw away my C band equipment but what is one to do? As for IPTV streaming, I currently have a 500 Mb connection but 1 Gb is available if needed and my router is capable of 1Gb. I think there are newer routers available that will do more than 2 Gb. So far 500 Mb is good for...
Thanks. From what I've read recently eSIM only connects to AT&T or that's what what got out of it. Which explains why I never connected to native Dish.
Do you have any verified instances of eSIMs connecting to either Dish native or T-Mobile?
It's not about data limits necessarily, although that is a big part of it. It's about QCI and network slicing. You get what you pay for, and MVNOs have a lower priority versus the MNO. If you are okay with the trade off of lower cost but being at the bottom of the totem pole, that's fine, but...
The motivation to e-file in my state is that if you want expedited refunds, e-filing is the only way to get them. Paper returns seem to require considerably more time to process.
This is critically important for those who use their tax refunds as a budgeting tool to pay off holiday bills.
So change FTA free-to-end user TV to IPTV which requires fairly expensive high-speed Internet connections, where and when available? Doesn't seem good for end users.
I Efile the federal, and print the state return from Turbotax , and mail it in the mail. Instead of 25-35 dollars per state, it cost me 2.00 for the stamps. Been doing that for years. No issues.
I only use TurboTax to produce the Colorado Form. Electronic filing is free if you transfer the numbers from the TurboTax produced form to the Department of Revenue website.
