Better get Netflix for NFL on Xmas

And there is talk that the NFL will opt out of the current deal 4 years early - at the end of the 2029 season - and renegotiate deals. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/get-ready-for-all-nfl-broadcast-deals-to-be-scrapped-as-of-2029 At that point, will the streamers...

Anyone here interested in tough, long-lasting vehicles?

Mainly the kind that can handle any harsh driving conditions and where maintenance can be delayed but the machine keeps on ticking. Any new vehicles? I'm talking mainly about the old Land Cruisers, 4runners and Lexus LX. All the new vehicles have hybrid and turbo engines and not sure how...

Been with dish for 12 years - needed faster hardware!

Sorry, I reread my contract. It is $20 per month penalty if cancellation, $480 maximum charge for cancellation. I didn't pay much attention to it since I will most likely keep dish for 24 more months. Especially since the Hopper 3 is everything I wanted it to be. Super fast menu changes...

I am starting to think there is a switch that goes off in us at a certain age, where we...

STREAMING SATURDAY: Why is Paramount such a tough sell?

Paramount hasn’t exactly been shy about it: they want someone to come and buy them. And yet we’ve seen several potential suitors come and go, and there’s no sale in sight. The latest suitors seem to be a partnership between Sony and Apollo Global Management. We’ve heard other names mentioned in...

    How things have changed

And Your now making it Personal ... I never said anything about your kids. Unfortunately there a lot more out there UNlike Your Kids, that really don't give a damn about anyone else but themselves .... also many of those get caught up in the Fantasy world of Games, where you go ahead an Shoot...

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

I would suppose that streaming will become more seamless as it becomes more mainstreamed. Maybe. With cable/sat, you can literally turn it on and then just step through all of your available channels, or short list thereof. If you add streaming you have to switch from the sat remote to the TV's...

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

They are that inexpensive because some of the costs is subsidized by the Government. For example, say the real monthly cost is $50 for that service, the person’s share is $25, then the Government’s share is $25. I have no idea what the real costs are, just giving a basic example.

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

Man how I wish those tightwads at spectrum would offer packages as cheap as those. They have a package called internet assist, which is $25 for 50 down 10 up.The devil is in the details though. In order to qualify for Spectrum Internet Assist, a household member must be receiving one of these...

$30 per month penalty is a hefty increase. Per my contract (Dec, 2022), I would have to pay $20.00 per month

If you got it in 2012 then it's the original hopper and no it wasn't always that slow. When they changed the software to that of the hopper3 in 2016 they pushed it to all hoppers and especially the hopper1 took a massive hit on speed. A few years ago they made a device called a hopper snab that...

By the way, speaking of profitable and unprofitable, found this from 2002- This summer, the company's Fox broadcast network reversed its ratings slide of recent years with its hit program ''American Idol.'' While the network is still unprofitable, the unit's operating loss narrowed to $8...

Yeah, I’ve heard the 722 is fast and ppl who have it don’t want to change it. I’m not sure if my Hopper from 2012 was that slow when I first got it? I don’t remember anymore. I’m sure it slowed down over the years. And my HDD was about 77% full, so it’s not like it was filled to the max.

I am pretty positive there was a Netflix in 2023. And there you go, trying to pick up the ball from the bundle guy, who took off after he never could proof anything he posted, gave a goodbye post, that basically said he was leaving because nobody believed him. Yes streaming is still growing...
