    DISH Has Made it Impossible to be a VIP211k Owner

    Dish's rep, which posted on this board back in November 2024, said that the 05 error code is a corrupted file on the hard drive and there was no way to get the recordings back. It had to be re-recorded. We never asked if it lasts forever - or at least as long as the account is active.

    The video for YTTV and Peacock should be pretty much the same. I have seen no difference on the Olympic feeds so far. If you have Atmos audio capability, that will only be on the Peacock feed.

    So. Has anyone actually contacted a Dish rep. and asked "When I record something, can I replay it forever?" Better yet. Aren't there Dish reps. here on this site who can answer that? Seems like a lot of hemming and hawing going on still about a supposedly obsoleted receiver. "Is it the HDD?"...

    It did after DISH took over the broadcast of them and Voom stopped being a satellite company any more. They were nice when they first started and then DISH compressed them to save bandwidth and the movies repeated all day and then they sucked and then they were dropped.
