Yes, they both use a UHF remote. Both the Hopper and Joey also have an IR setting to allow IR remotes as well. The Hopper Plus and Joey 4 do not work well with IR though.

My mesh system has an isolation mode that you can turn on per device. I use that on all of my IOT stuff. Seems to work well.

No need for the name calling. But that box can listen, monitor and report the other traffic on your network. Report it to who is the question.

Same here. My mesh network has a guest connection. All my IOT's get connected to that.

I believe your account only lists devices you got from AT&T/DIRECTV. You can add as many more devices as you please and you don’t need to add them into your account. Just login with your username and password and follow the setup instructions. There are no extra charges for 3rd party devices...
