    Fear of Poles

What if...a bear saunters out by the dish to admire the apple tree he ate bare last visit yesterday, then wanders away disappointed. Motoring my Ku dish beside didn't phase him.

    C-Band Not Aligning

The skew change is important. In Montana, moving the dish from 133W to 101W, you need to rotate the LNBF by 28 degrees CCW looking from behind the dish. Until you do, you won't receive signal. Aiming for the stronger 4005 V 4442 transponder is smart too.

    C-Band Not Aligning

You can check the solar outage calculator to see if your work fell inside the outage windows. Below shows what happened in central Montana for the days leading up to Monday.

    C-Band Not Aligning

Were you doing this work today? I ask because at your area there were seasonal solar outages around midday up until Monday this week.

Wrong answers. This is the solution. It's been working fine for 4 months.

    Fear of Poles

In my dreams. If I can dig down even 1 foot without hitting solid granite, I'm excited. We are safe from mud slides if torrential rain ever comes. Our hill isn't moving due to rock. As for digging a hole, good luck with that.

TNAP 6 for Edision: Yes or No?

I have had N/A before at the channel level, for example, when you blind scan and the scan catches an already registered transponder with a slightly different frequency. But this N/A I noticed with the introduction of this 'Copy Bouquet' feature is at the satellite folder level. The bouquet...

TNAP 6 for Edision: Yes or No?

In your channel selection screen, highlight the satellite of choice, press Menu then select Copy to Bouquets. The satellite and its channels will be copied to your User Bouquets (bottom of list). Be aware that I've had some trouble when using this. Somehow it seems to eventually sometimes get...

    LNB Bracket Needed

Probably a tough find. Time to improvise. The idea in Post #6 could be implemented using parts available from your local hardware store.

I'm using DB4 3.3.2 2021-4 Upgrade Library Version 3.0.0e. It is called Ali DB Editor Release and dated 20220512.

Review: consumer receiver natively tuning 4:2:2

Just a brief aside. Since the remote controls for my GT Media V9 and V7S5X receivers interfere with each other as they transmit common codes, I just arrange to have one unit powered on and the other unit powered off. Then when I press the power button on either remote control, this turns one...

Stab vs Digipower Motors: Which to use?

Elevation to 180E ftom here is 12.7 degrees. The mounting bracket is an issue. Also this means the offset dish would be aimed physically down by over 10 degrees and the dish lip would hit my tripod leg support and be restricted from freely moving in azimuth. So I inverted the mounting bracket...

Edision OS Mio+ TNAP 5.1 Service Reports

This worked well for me on TNAP5.1. It's not working on TNAP6. I wonder if this is me or a change in the release.

Review: consumer receiver natively tuning 4:2:2

I can't find a way on the V9 to change to a new SID as well as edit the PIDs. From GSP microHD days, this was the solution to keep the new PID data saved.

Review: consumer receiver natively tuning 4:2:2

Works for me! Easier than using the editor. And I could save my changes. Maybe the box firmware version is important. My S/W version is V203.03.06.28.207 March 18, 2025. Added: Doesn't work! I could save the new PID. But when I exited out to watch the channel and change channels, then the old...

Right. I did add all the Mood Music on 101W. Looking further at the V9 editor, I see you can "insert" a channel, then "edit" that channel including VPIDs and APIDs. Then you can "delete" a channel. Therefore, in this roundabout way, you can add or edit PIDs.

Review: consumer receiver natively tuning 4:2:2

I'm taking a fresh look at the PC-based editor for the V9 Prime now. I don't see a way to edit VPID or APID for a scanned channel. When you edit a channel, VPID and APID fields stay greyed out. So you can see the field contents but you can't change them. The only reason I use this editor is to...

Following this procedure, for a TP you can edit using the remote control the frequency, symbol rate, polarity, PLSN (Gold or Root), PLSN Number (0 to 524288), T2MI TP (No, T2MI, TLS), T2MI PID (0 to 8191). I don't see any way to edit the VPID or APID this way.

Review: consumer receiver natively tuning 4:2:2

I've had a couple of Edision Mio+s and now have the GT Media V9 Prime and V7S5X. The V9 is the best of the two GT Media receivers that I have. On the V9, the blind scan and sensitivity are the best of anything I've owned. They scan very fast usually and they lock signals better in some cases...
