7/6/06 - Installer told me "November" (Also told "26 new HD channels by end of August") 7/15/06 - High Definition tech support told me "end of August" (Also told me there is no software update for the HR10-250's coming)

Well, that's what the local installer told me 2 days ago. He actually said "by the end of the summer" I know, I know, take it for what it's worth.... Also said the new HD DVR wont be out until December....

Just got my 250 yesterday, and it is certainly good to hear a software update is on the horizon. This is painfully slow compared to my other SD DirecTivos

If they actually come and swap out our HD-DVRs with the new one, I'll be suprised. Only time will tell, though...

Got it, that makes more sense. And actually, I'd be fine with them installing a 5LNB, wouldn't I? I just wouldn't get locals on my HR10, but I could still get everything else, right?

Sweet! So, if you can get your HD locals OTA, there really is no *need* for the 5 LNB at this time, right? Now the question is, when they start providing *other* channels MPEG-4, I'll need tu upgrade the dish.

I think it's a full stretch, but I can't compare to the HTL-HD, cause I've never seen one. Got mine at VE as well. Great dealing with them. Another positive- Picks up OTA HD channels MUCH better than my 811 did.
